John PC Configurations helped me recover from a failing network. John determined that the hard drives in the server were failing and causing user profiles to become corrupt upon login. New hard drives would be necessary, requiring a complete network shutdown in my case. He advised I should upgrade Windows Server OS and SQL, since my present versions would soon be outdated. It was a good suggestion that would save time and effort in the long run. Realizing how downtime would hurt our business, John and Chris rebuilt the servers, working through the night and brought them back the following morning. They stayed throughout the day late into the evening helping to install application software, configure workstations and printers. They treated downtime as if it were their own business. I really appreciate the intense effort given on their part to get us back up and running in a timely manner. They are very knowledgeable. Their technical skills and ability to trouble shoot problems reflect years and years of experience, something that seems increasingly more difficult to find these days. Since recovering from that disaster John PC Configuration continued to guide me through additional network upgrades, transition to Windows 10, and network security planning. The network is healthy and secure now. Upon purchasing new hardware or software I seek their opinion and expertise. They put effort into understanding my need, research and offer advice, insuring a solution that is a good fit for our business. There is a difference between selling to someone and helping them. Money is too often the motivation for the first. John PC Configuration truly strives to help their customers with solutions that make sense, are a good fit and in the customer’s best interest. I initially contacted John PC Configuration when the IT specialist whom had supported our business for several years was unable to help. Even another IT support person was unable to determine the problem and had little idea how to proceed, inspiring little confidence. John PC Configuration came through for me, and helped to overcome problems that had stemmed from poor technical implementation and advice in the past.

I took my pc in because it suddenly shut down and wouldnt power on, i figured out it was either a PSU problem or a CPU problem, he inspected it and it said that the motherboard and cpu had fried. Im not a tech savy so it seemed believable, he replaces it and the ram for 800 usd. I had an intel i9 something and he replaced it with an AMD 7 series, my computer seemed to run much worse than before and now i wanted an upgrade. I believed that first time around he was fair, a little rude mentioning my lack in pc knowledge but at the time the price seemed fair to me, i go in saying i need to install parts that i already have but cant install myself, new mb, ram, and a 9950 X3D, told me i would pretty much need a new pc setup. In total cost about 2100 to 2300 depending on labor. He told me he refused to use the ram and mb i provided because it "wouldnt work", the parts were a microcenter bundle, so i consult my friends and they tell me it will and that im being scammed, i found another guy to do the same thing but this time the cost is only 1500 (and he is using the parts i provide). He constantly sucked off ASUS and tried to sell thier products at almost every corner. I almost forgot to mention but it took him 2 weeks to fix my mb and cpu problem where the new guy can build a whole new pc for my in 2 days.
Overall Bad Customer service Annoying yapping about made up stories (forgot to mention but he works for the DoD and there are helicopters on his property alot) Lazed around for 2 weeks Overpriced Downgraded my components with his sponsers tech You'll also hear "you know what im saying" and "but you...
Read moreUnprofessional and quite rude - I sent in my computer to solve an issue with a random blue screen of death. He told me it was my RAM being timed incorrectly so I would need new RAM. After installing the RAM and getting the computer stable again, I was told that it's overheating and will need a new AIO radiator. Instead of the radiator He replaced my case fans (of his own unknown brand) and threw away my old ones without asking me. A year later his case fans have started falling apart and squeaking, I've had to adjust them numerous times from slapping the fan blades against my radiator fins making an ungodly rattling noise. Very cheap fans, it seems.
I sat with him while he worked on my computer the day I was to pick it up. I was given very rude remarks such as "people like you not knowing how to build a computer" and "If you cared to research anything you wouldn't have had to bring it here in the first place" Which didn't need to be said, he should be happy for my business. Among other things he had even stranger stories about how he works for the Department of Defense, who then sent a helicopter to his property and dropped him off on a fleet carrier..dude what? This guy is not honest, and cut corners without even asking permission. I would not recommend. Not to mention talking your ear off with untruthful stories.
The only up-side is that my computer works now, after...
