I purchased 72K '03 Mach 1 in Nov of '18, brought it to a couple of shops to get assessed, eventually landing at Rodeheaver's (about an hour out of Pittsburgh). Tim (the owner) put it on a lift and took a look. He pointed out everything that other shops had mentioned (control arms, springs, shocks, sub frame connectors, tubular k-member, tie rods). Before I left, he had spent roughly an hour with me, talking about what could be done with the car, and how to go about it. My goal was to basically get the wHP up to 400-500, safely and stable. His suggestion was to first address all the suspension and stability issues, then add some gears, and a ProCharger. Before I left he pulled up the Summit Racing website, and priced out what it would cost to take care of phase 1, the non-power add stage, and I left with a quote in my hand. When I asked what i owe him for his time (2 other places charged me $100/$125), he said "Nothing, if you get the work done with me, that will be great, but if not, no big deal". I went home, thought about it, and decided to go with it. I added long tube headers (Kooks, catted hi-flow x-pipe, coilovers, Ford Racing drive shaft, new engine/trans mounts, steel brake lines, new brakes/rotors, flush/bleed brake fluid). A couple weeks later I dropped it off on a Saturday, picked it up week later, and the car was SOLID, ...... "from ZERO to HERO!". Tim told me bring it back between 500-1000 miles to have everything looked at, and tightened up if need be. At 500 miles I brought it back and had Tim install 3.73, new LSD, 31 spline axels, transmission/radiator fluid flush/replace as well. From time to time, I send Tim email asking questions, probably WAY TOO many questions, and he responds back quickly. Everything that Tim does is rock solid, from the actual work done to the car, to service, to salesmanship, just top notch, and is decent guy. He also walked me through the purchase of tires/wheels without any sales/service being done on his side. Oh, he also does custom dyno (mustang dyno) tuning, tuning done by him, not an email tune, bringing my Mach up 313 at the wheels, with no power adders (other than long tube headers). Last thing to add, Tim asked me what my goals were, and has never tried to sell me outside of those goals, and making several suggestions.
UPDATE: About 4-6 wks ago Tim installed a Procharger, D1SC, and a custom tune, bringing power to 458 rwHP. Everything is running super smooth, Tim said he could have added more power to the wheels, but capped it at 450 to keep the engine safe. In Jan/Feb of 2020 Tim is going to rebuild my engine, forging it so we can take the power...
Read moreI have been a customer of Rodeheaver's Hot Rod shop since June of 2010 & was treated so well & developed such confidence in the shop's abilities that towards the end of that year I had Timmy rebuild the engine in my '86 Mustang. This is a car that I bought new & am quite particular about who works on it. As anyone who knows me can attest to I have been drag racing it ever since, a lot. I drop the clutch at 5000 rpm (it's amazing a how different the strip is compared to the street) & hammer the car as hard as I can to try to go as fast as I can. This is a street car with a/c full interior & a 6 speed manual. I can go high 11's at 117 or more if I do my part. Needless to say after thousands of street miles & a big box of time slips it runs as strong now as when Timmy built it & I never add oil between oil changes. I was so happy with the shops work that I had them hotrod my S2000 & it is much more fun to drive. That car was already a pretty high performance car & Timmy says Honda's are a pain to work on but helped me out anyway. I have had such excellent experiences dealing with the shop that I bought a roller to have Timmy build into what I think will be one of the fastest street cars around. I know that's a bold statement but over 1000 hp on his Mustang chassis Dyno not fully tuned yet & maybe into the 7's if I do my job & am brave enough. It's at his shop now so check it out. All in all I can not recommend Rodeheaver's Hot Rod shop highly enough, it is off the scale plus they make me feel like a true friend, they are...
Read moreI never make reviews, but had to make one for this. Recently dropped off my 1997 Cobra to have subframe connectors welded in. Finding someone to take on this job was not easy as most people are out of touch with these cars the older they get. Tim was recommended by a friend, and I myself cannot recommend him and his crew enough. Not only was my car treated with immense care, it was turned around the same day. The shop is incredibly clean, and by looking at some of the cars sitting inside you can tell his caliber of work is second to none. My car handles and feels like a totally new vehicle, not only did they weld in my connectors they managed even to squeeze in a quick exhaust repair while they were under it. The job went a little longer than I was originally quoted on labor, but after he explained to me what he got into, I thought he was more than fair and transparent. I will be bringing my car back here from now on for anything that is outside my scope of expertise. It’s hard to find good quality people that you can trust with your vehicles anymore, but I found someone whom I trust and admire the quality of their...
