Several years ago I rented a Harley and went for a drive. As I came down the hill the bike sputter and popped and came to a stop...right smack dab in front of this church. I forgot to fill er up...out of gas. I felt it a good sign that this didn't happen in the middle of nowhere as I'd been for the last hour. I walked in the church and saw 2 men singing and playing the ukulele. I told them my dilemma and after they stopped laughing they suggested I take a walk over to a house they pointed out and inquire. So I did. I came to man in his garage watching football, and I asked if he could kindly spare a few gallons of which he obliged. I gave him some money and he insisted it was too much, but I insisted he take it. So he then went into his yard, picked some fresh fruit that we enjoyed. Together we talked about life, his time serving in the Korean War (thank you for your service) and his life back home on Maui and watched football. I can't say I've ever had a better ride. ...
