Good evening, We just had the worst day ever with Chris on the road to hana tour. He picked us up and we noticed he had a bunch of bumps and welts on the back of his head, no big deal. For the next 11 hours this man yanked at these bumps on his head and would play with the skin in his hand the flick it into the air sometimes landing on us. He was bleeding from the back of his head at certain points of the trip. Throughout the trip i tried to take good videos but all you can see is this guy picking his head. All I remember from my road to hana tour was this. I am contacting you, I am reaching out to the health department and I'm having chase cancel my payment. I want my money back but I really wish I had my second full day on maui of my honeymoon back. I would have preferred doing the drive ourselves. My new wife was very patient but I'm lucky she didn't leave me at Hana. We did not confront the gentleman because we felt trapped with him as our driver. Remember that you will be stuck with a random person for the entirety of the trip. We did a private tour hoping to avoid some discomfort but got...

A family vacation of nine, a mixes of ages, and the decision to explore the island was one filled with questions that only lead to more questions. Enter Road to Hana tours. Dray's greeted us at our front door and went out of his way to learn everyone name and what we had heard about the road to Hana and what we hoped to see. During a group stop at Safeway, as not everyone had went before we left, I could see Dray working hard thinking about something. Come to find out it was a personalized tour of the day! He did not worry about the destination as many other tour we saw that day. He knew make the tour about the journery. He did not just use a plan from the group before... We had kids, so it was off to the climbing and trekking to see the waterfalls. The older crowd got to see the state arbortium and learn more about the wild and unique fauna of the island. Dray was not one to be sitting in the van pointing to path and wishes us well either. He was the first out of the van to leads us onward to adventure. We did not know what the day would bring, but Dray and Road to Hana tours made it a day...

Brandon of the Road to Hana Private tour (7/31/21)was fantastic! We truly enjoyed our day on the Road to Hana with Brandon as our guide. Careful driving, great background color of local areas, scenic stops—turtles! Rough scenic coastline! Bamboo hike! Swimming in Impressive waterfalls (great day to wear Keens/Tevas), tasty treats along the way, both at fruit stands, banana bread at Aunty’s, even Brandon’s finding wild passionfruit for us along the roadside. Our trek ended next to last stop at Hana’s food trucks (bring cash) then a final stop just past at wonderful Haiku beach. And the return trip was a fun chance to reminisce about this wonderful day. Thanks, Brandon— your calm demeanor and aloha spirit extended even to how you helped keep our 10 yo adventurous son loving the day. When we got home, Zach’s exact words: “This was a too good to be true day.” Highly recommend this wonderful tour and hope you’re lucky enough to...

As winding and narrow the road to Hana was, it was all made as smooth as possible by our awesome tour guide Kainoa. He was great at navigating the roads but was also knowledgeable about the different plants and species along the way. He even let us experience some local delicacies (I.e kūpe’e and pipipi)! If you ever decide to venture out to road to Hana, highly recommend this tour and especially having Kainoa as your guide. Also don’t forget your ginger chews (helps with the motion sickness)!

Would give 11/5 stars for the man himself, Kauhola. He made the trip very interesting, with so many facts and answers for our questions. No need to worry about the sketchy drive there or back because Kauhola knows his away around the roads and the mountain like the back for his hand. Such a pleasant time, experience, and stories with Kauhola. Probably the best guide we had this whole trip! Would recommend Kauhola for anyone else that wants to enjoy this experience. -JC

The ride to Hana was the highlight of the trip for me and our whole family. Kalei is the best guide ever. He has so much energy and personality and is extremely knowledgeable about the island. He made sure that we had fun, we saw the turtles, swam at the black sand beach, jumped off the rocks at the waterfall, ate at all the great food spots and we laughed and sang all the way home to some great music. Thanks Kalei🙏🙏🦩💕
