If, on the other hand, you want to honor a small business that is owned by two talented artists, purchase hand made stoneware and raku and always have a tale to tell, you will find that and more. The pieces are completely original and beautiful and each has a story. And Mr. Crosby can share it with you.
He is a master potter and, along with his lovely wife, he is happy to let you in on how things are made. Seeing the studio and kilns, alongside their completed products, was inspiring. They are genuine, kind and welcoming. In fact, they give the warmest welcome.
They also teach classes here and their students are so lucky to learn from them.
It’s not a quick trip to visit, it’s an adventure. From the windy path up the mountain road to the lovely property they live on, everything slows down a bit. The Crosbys are happy to tell a funny story, show how a technique works and then prepare your new pottery for its trip home.
