What started as a "quick trip" to the local sports card shop to get some baseball cards before I headed to spring training has turned into something that I had never imagined.
As someone who had never considered herself a card collector it could have easily been very intimidating to walk into a sports card shop for the first time but that could not have been any further from the truth. From day one I was treated with kindness from the guys behind the counter offering tips and answering all my questions.
Fast forward to today and this shop has become my happy place. The place I go to kill a couple hours and take my mind off things. They have so much product to offer whether you're looking for card singles, packs, boxes, penny sleeves, the list goes on and on. I've traveled to other sports card shops around the country and every time I walk in I'm always disappointed because I feel like my standards are set so high after shopping at Sports Card Junction.
The guys at the shop feel like family. Yes they each have their quirks but that's what makes them special. Often times you'll find regular customers hanging out and forming new friendships. Thank you Tyler, Marty, Nate, and Chad for helping build a community that I'm proud to be part of. If you're on the fence about visiting this card shop I couldn't recommend it more. They are 100% for the customers. Affordable products, vast variety, top notch service. You really can't go wrong by...

With over a dozen Pokémon leagues in Pittsburgh, I’m not sure why we bothered to stop here this week but we did and it was a mistake. Never once have we seen so much childish behavior by adults over a child’s card game.
-1 Star Not sure why the owner responded in the manner they did. I have a credit card transaction proving my visit…
We stand by our experience and won’t be intimidated into silence. It’s disappointing—but not surprising—that this shop treats honest reviews as personal attacks. Dismissing criticism without reflection doesn’t build trust. For the record, Google doesn’t remove reviews just because they’re inconvenient. They remove violations, not opinions.
What’s unfortunate isn’t just the reaction to feedback, but the missed opportunity. There’s real potential here to foster something positive—a hub for players, collectors, and families alike. But instead of building bridges, this store seems more invested in protecting its ego than its community.
Other stores in the area have figured it out: support, connect, grow. It’s not hard. We genuinely hope this store catches up one day.
In the meantime, there are better places to take your kids, your business, and your energy.

Read moreThis shop has been beyond great. To say my 9 year old went head over heels into cards this past year is a drastic understatement. We have been to every shop in the Pittsburgh area on his card journey. Many shops are excellent. But Nate, Chad, Chuck, and everyone there go above and beyond the others. First trip here He hit a rookie autograph. I thought it might be worth 5 bucks. They took the time to explain what it was, what it might be worth, and how to take care of it to my then 8y/o who has been teaching me since. That was 7 months ago. Recently my son wanted his birthday party at a card shop. After being hung up when we called another shop closer to our home, we went to SCJ the next day. The shop has been open for almost 30 years and have never had a birthday party before. But they were open to roll the dice with us. The party ended a few hours ago. My wife has been getting blown up with texts and calls from parents about how much fun their kid had. SCJ went above and beyond to accommodate this idea, and really made it happen. Every trip here is great. We have 4 other local card shops closer but my son always wants to go to SCJ. They deserve more stars than Google Allows. Happy dad of the happiest kid...
