Update - Is asking me to contact you (owner) a joke? I asked 10 times on the last call to speak to the owner but was refused each time. You have my name, address, and phone number on file. You can easily contact me which you haven't done. All you did was post on the review to try and look better. I can't contact you as your employees refused to provide your contact info!
Can you give a company Zero stars? I would if I could. Call DNI up to come out to do a simple HVAC system service. No issues. Just want a checkup since I didn't do the fall furnace inspection this year. Dispatch says a $50 "truck fee" to bother showing up and then a $195 an hour rate for any work. A bit pricey but they did the install 5 years ago so I figure I'd stick with them. Day before they change the schedule time but I'm ok with that.
Guy shows up and does the job. He explains he will clean the outside unit's coils with a special cleaner. Changed the inside filter with one I had on hand since it was dirty. I notice after a while I haven't heard a sound from him. So I sit in the main living area and then I hear him come out of an extra bathroom downstairs - just the door opening. I was like, ok...whatver.
He wraps up at an 1 hour and 35 minutes and minimally tries to upsell me on a service agreement for regular maintenance before leaving. I know the exact time because I have a camera overlooking the driveway. Go downstairs and make sure it was all cleaned up down there. Looks fine. Check the bathroom. Flush the deuce that was left behind. That was classy.
Then today I get an invoice for over 800 bucks. 50 for the truck fee, 80 for the "special cleaner", and 682.50 for the hourly rate. I call them up and ask what in the world? It should have been 50 bucks plus the 300 or so for the 1.5 hours. They say they charge you for drive time too. THEY NEVER TOLD ME THIS UPFRONT AND ON THE PHONE THEY DON'T EVEN DENY THIS FACT. It was funny since I checked google and they are 30-35 minutes away from my house. So they are trying to charge me for 1.5 hours of work and 2 hours of driving time even though at most the drive was 70 minutes round trip. They claim they will check the GPS.
Manager is supposed to call me back. Finally does and have knocked off the extra hour of drive time they tried to rip me off on. Denies that they tried to rip me off but refuses to show the drive time GPS. Offers no proof. Refuses to allow me to talk to the owner despite at least 10 requests to talk to the owner. I ask if they would charge drive time if they had another job in the area. She refuses to answer. I ask if the technician came from their offices and returned since that is what the new drive time is supposedly charging me. She refuses to answer. Basically offers no backup for any of the charges. I asked about the special cleaner charge and how it was 4x the cost of Home Depot. She tells me "that is how we make money."
She asks what would make me happy and I told her I'd happily pay for the 1:35 he was here - which included his time on his phone in my driveway and the 50 truck fee and the 80 for the cleaner. She refuses and cuts it to $520 after again refusing to allow me to speak to an owner. All she says is to pay her now. She has to collect payment now. Rude and condescending. My lifetime total of reviews is probably about 10 so I hope DNI feels special.
So for $520 I get this: "Tech started by locating the indoor and outdoor unit. Tech shut power off to the indoor and outdoor system. Tech took hail guards off condensing unit and cleaned with chemical cleaner and water. Tech put hail guards back on and switched the power back on. Tech then changed the media filter in the electric filter for the indoor unit and checked the cleanliness of the indoor system. Tech then tested both the indoor and outdoor system for proper operation and found everything to be working fine at this time. Tech recommends changing the filter for the indoor unit every 3 months and cleaning both the indoor and outdoor system...
Read moreChris came to my house to give me an estimate same day. His estimate was full disclosure unlike others who I checked out not will to give me an estimate I had to take a picture on my phone!! The price was also very competitive and I did not feel they were taking advantage of me. They showed up on time today Mike and Dominic were fantastic. With Covid I was a little nervous having people in my house but not with them. They were both polite, professional and very patient with all of my questions. Would highly recommend this company.
Had to change my review. Since I placed this review I have referred two customers one who I knew purchased a unit as I did. The sales person barely said thank you. He did say I would be getting a referral in the mail which was Scheilds gift card. Although not a store in my area I thought ok it’s the thought that counts. When I asked about it he said I’ll check on it it’s in the mail.....still don’t have it. It’s not about the 50.00 gift card a thank you would have done it for me.
Update they called and made good on their promise and doubled the amount. It was not about the money it was about just getting a simple thank you. I appreciated the call and that they made...
Read moreI called to make an appointment and they were able to come out right away which was great. Mike arrived to my house on time and was friendly. However, when the services were done he charged me for 1.5 hours of labor when he was here for 29 minutes. He also charged me 30 minutes of drive time which really threw me for a loop when I live in Mead and this company is based in Mead apparently. I called the office a few days later to request some money back because I think $307 to change an air filter and blow out the outside unit is a little pricey. I was told someone in accounting would call me back which never happened. I received an updated statement with a $70 credit, but no phone call like I was promised. After a few days I realized the $70 credit never went back on my card so I called again. The lady in accounting was new and had no idea how to process a credit onto a credit card. After another 2 days she figured this out. I told her I would like to speak with an office manager and she said she could get one of the owners to call me back. Once again no phone call ever came.
