While I had previously given them a 5-Star rating, I am now changing to a 1-Star rating. It disappoints me to do that, but in my opinion, it is warranted.
This is the second time in a row that we have received a quote from the technician that came out and then when we received the email from the company, it was grossly over the tech's estimate.
This time, the quote we received from the company, after the technician came out was 800% higher than that of the technician.
Here is the response I received from the company, "Bathroom exhaust fans - especially those that include a light and heater - are often more complex to install than they may appear. While the fan unit itself can range from around $100 to $250 depending on the specific model and features, the real cost typically lies in the labor, materials, and time required to perform the installation safely and correctly. These fans can involve tight attic or ceiling access, ducting work, upgrading wiring, and ensuring compliance with electrical code - all of which can vary based on the home’s existing setup. Regarding the conversation your wife had with our technician, I want to sincerely apologize if anything he said gave the wrong impression. We do our best to set realistic expectations in the field, but final pricing always comes from a full evaluation and detailed estimate after assessing the scope. If there was any miscommunication, that’s on us, and we’d like to make it right by ensuring you feel fully informed."
I think it was ironic that they specifically mention the real cost being in the labor, materials and time required to perform the installation as the technician specially stated that it would be less expensive and easier since we already have a bathroom exhaust fan with a light and heater...so he wouldn't have to run ducting, new wiring, new switch, etc. only replacing the older fan with a newer fan, which is why he recommended we go with the same style of exhaust fan.
The also mentioned that they are members of Nexstar Network, so I checked out the Nexstar Network page and happened to read their Code of Ethics and found this one, "We will not advertise our services in a deceptive manner" pretty appropriate.
Although their technician didn't advertise the quote out into the world, quoting my wife a price seems like advertisement to me and I would just like to know, for the record, how the technician was off by nearly an 800% in his quote to my wife than what came across in the email your company sent and how that doesn't go against the...
Read moreI really couldn't ask for a better experience with this company. These people work super hard, are incredibly smart, highly capable and profession, friendly, and really just fun people to deal with.
Greyson and Kole with Titus Electrical Services are rockstars. These two guys did a whole home restoration for my townhouse. They replaced every switch and receptacle device in my home, installed a new Square D Homeline 125 amp main breaker panel (with an 80 kA surge protective device), replaced and updated some light fixtures in the kitchen and two bathrooms, and if that wasn't enough, installed a new (and better) bathroom ceiling fan and did all of the duct work in the attic (a dirty and difficult job). And they did all of this in only two (2) days.
Simply incredible.
They were both a pleasure to have in my home and a pleasure to work with. After the initial evaluation and consultation visit they were able to do the work only a few days later, which was amazing.
Also, a third helper joined the work for part of the first day and he was great too. All three Titus electricians were great at keeping my place clean by wearing shoe coverings and did extensive vacuuming while they worked in various parts of my home. They answered all of my questions and gave me great advice and guidance about the project.
They even picked up the bathroom fan and some lighting fixtures for me. They did everything and made the whole process super easy. I work from home and was able to do computer work the entire time the restoration work was being done. How cool is that?
Finally, Elizabeth and Becca were always a joy to talk with over the phone whenever I needed to talk with folks at the main office. They answered all of my questions, helped with paperwork and invoicing, and were very friendly.
Everyone is top-notch at Titus. Thank you for your help. Titus Electrical...
Read morePrevious home owner severed the main power lines to my home at some point in the past. Lost power with all the moisture we received recently. Did a google search, Titus showed up on top. I was in a pinch so just called and moved ahead. They had a tech out first thing Sunday morning. The emergency dispatch fee was a bit of bummer, but expected. Adam showed up and was very polite. Asked what the problem was and seemed sincerely empathetic to us not having power for the previous 12ish hours. He quickly diagnosed the problem and had a solution. All the moisture in the ground was causing some issues with his equipment getting a proper reading to locate the ground fault. So it was some old school digging until we found the problem. Adam and I were in the rain and mud doing some digging and not one complaint about being wet or cold or anything. Kudos!! He had another call come in and we weren’t at a point of fixing my problem anytime soon. So he politely took his leave to go help another customer and made it clear if I found the break, to give him a call and he would come back and at least temporarily restore power to us. About 4 hours later I found the problem, called Adam and he was at my house in about 30 minutes. True to his word. Got the temporary fix in and power restored. He came back out Monday morning to properly fix the issue. He was extremely knowledgeable, patient and willing to share some of his knowledge with me. I will use Titus again purely because of...
