LOVE the Ridge and Cedar Hill Loop up to Cedar Hill Vista! I will definitely be back.

I was indecisive on where to go this afternoon, and I’m so glad I landed on this spot. I knew I wanted a clear path, intermittent mild cardio/skill challenge (incline/rocks/etc) and views, but I didn’t want to be bouldering all afternoon or dealing with a bunch of people.

The ridge and cedar hill loop (look at All-Trails for the map) checked all the boxes and was so incredibly peaceful! Well-marked and easy most of the way until you get to the incline up to Cedar Hill overlook - moderate on the climb and there are a few rocky spots. Only encountered a few people and doggos along the way.

Logistics: Pull in to the parking lot ($6 for the day) and then walk back toward the road to start the ridge and cedar hill loop trail in a clockwise direction.

I also definitely recommend downloading the map from All-Trails (if possible) prior to starting as there are several trails in this area and it’s easy to accidentally veer off the loop.

Rocky Woods Family Hike: A Perfect Nature Escape! Our family adventure at Rocky Woods was an absolute delight for Memorial Day! The well-marked, color-coded trails offer something for everyone: easy loops for the kids and slightly challenging paths for grown-ups. The serene forest, sparkling pond, and panoramic views from the lookout point keep us energized. We loved the peaceful atmosphere and spotting chipmunks along the way. My kids didn't like a snake in front of their way. Restrooms are always closed when I'm there, but there is always parking, and picnic spots that makes the trip stress-free. Rocky Woods is my go-to hiking spot in Medfield. Great variety of trails, but nothing you can’t do in a day. Amazing views on the pond and a super cool beaver lodge/dam. The Rhododendrons are also very pretty. One thing I will say is that the bridge across the pond is inaccessible and has been that way for many years, so plan your hike with that in mind. Great for...
