Mepo Foods — Local services in Mediapolis

Went there 2 days ago. Needed tomato and lettuce for BLT's.. simple enough right? Not at all. First off prices are outrageous but that is as it is. Next the tomatoes all had Mold on them! Not 1 was free of it! And at $3.99 that's a steep purchase. Next on to lettuce. Only 2 out of the 6 heads there was edible. The rest had browned leaves, liquid yuck filling the bags. When at the register something was said, but the young employees just said simply "ok" .. You would think they'd at least apologize or say they was going to take care of it. Nope. I did purchase a head of lettuce and also bought cherry tomatoes cuz I needed them for my BLT's. I'd give this place a Zero if I could. I understand you're a small town store with outrageous prices as it is, I get it. But, if you're going to charge more at least make sure the products are good and fresh. I'd literally be embarrassed if it was my establishment. Out dated food items, expired by a month items. No excuses for it. One call away from being shut down due to your own...

Edit 7/15/21 I would like to add that they have the best meat in the area, yes its a little more expensive but you get what you pay for! It beats both fairway and hyvee in the ground beef department for sure! If you want a hamburger that will actually keep its size when you grill it, but it here.

Went there for looking for steaks one night and had to select carefully. Some of the steaks look like they have been sitting there for quite some time. Place is too cheap to hire real employees resorts to hire high school kids. It would be different if had adults supervising the high school kids, but there’s no adults.
