A man I was dating (my future husband) took me to Bellevue my first time in 2006. As I walked through the doors, I was at first overwhelmed with its sheer size and all the people. I tend to get anxious in large crowds. Within 5 minutes of hearing Pastor Steve Gaines preach, however, I knew I was where I needed to be. Church had been missing in my life since I was 7, and here was this man, just preaching frankly the Word of God. The more I attended Bellevue, the deeper my love for the Word and for the church grew. I got baptized and became a member. As you begin to connect in the church, the vast expanse of Bellevue starts to diminish and now it has become like a second home. Sometimes I just go up there to use the Prayer Room (a beautiful, peaceful place to pray that I encourage anyone, member or not, to use) or just to sit in the lobby and quietly work. I feel embarrassed to say this, but after 12 years of attending, I finally got around to checking out the gymnasium. For anyone wanting to add exercise to your life, this is the place for you! There is every machine I could imagine someone would want to use (ellipticals, treadmills, stationary bikes, free weights, leg weight machines, etc. etc.) and there is a walking/running track. (Runners stay on one side, walkers on the other so you don't get run over! LOL) The locker room is so clean and there are showers for those who need to use them. Wednesday nights are a time to connect with a class, or there is a chapel service. I like the chapel service, as it reminds me of my old Methodist church experience as a child with the older hymnals. The youth programs are second-to-none. My daughter has blossomed there in her faith since she began attending in middle school. Now she is in the choir and actively involved in the summer activities they offer. I've even "caught" her witnessing to people as we go out to restaurants and the like! I could go on and on (and I have already, I know!), but I truly want to encourage ANYONE to come and visit if you have the slightest interest in attending a service. We are all a very friendly bunch, there are all kinds of races and people of different economic backgrounds - - we want Bellevue to be a place where ALL are welcome and treated with the love that Jesus Christ bestows upon us. We are ALL sinners and the ground at the cross is level! God Bless you all, and we welcome you...
Read moreI have been here for their Christmas plays but this was the first time I had ever been to there bookstore. My spiritual sister wanted to go and pick up a Biblr for her husband for their anniversary. Come to find out they both use the same type of Bible I have since they came out; the Life Application Study Bible. This one is in Large print.
It has been hard for me to find one in large print without an outlandish price. Well Bellevue Bookstore has them. Well can get them. They had three. The first thing I thought about was, God had the two for them and the last one on the shelf for me. I had wanted one for years. As the eyes get older one needs to make the strain easier on the eyes. Since I read for my pastor, in ministry school, do family devotion with my children and study God's word as part of my own personal relationship 3God . I need a large print Bible and had been praying for the opportunity to buy one at a decent price. I got this one for $79.99 + tax and I bought some tabs for them which was $4.99.
This is an awesome study Bible as you will see by some of the pictures I have included. The lady in the bookstore looked at my Bible and told me that I had gold edges and asked if I sure that I wanted the color Bible index tabs I had chosen. I did appreciate her asking most time they help to color coordinate for you. However, the special thing about these tabs is that you get a take for each book not two or three on one tab as you will see by the pictures I include with this review. It is hard to find these Bibles and especially in the KJV. I love having other versions to compare However the King James Version (authorized) and Amplified Version are my preferred.
I did look at Christianbook.com for this Bible which I did get a large print Bibkr from before but the price is too high. The Bible itself was $3 cheaper, but after adding the taxes and shipping and handling the cost was too high. I paid a total of $93 + change with the tabs.
I have to call now to see if they have a Bible cover I can purchase for the Bible. Thank God for this church service to us Christians in...
Read moreWe been going to this Church for years and also attend their premarital Councelling. I called the church to see if we can utilize one of their venues for our baby shower. We spoke with Deborah over the phone and we gave her the date and time we planned to have our baby shower she told as that day was available. I explained to her we not members and the person hosting the baby shower is and she told told us she will need to check with the head person. Days went by and we never heard from them so I called to to do a quick follow up. Dibbie answer the phone and I explained that I spoke with Deborah a few days ago and never heard back from her and I just wanted to follow up on the venue we inquired about. She said I need to bring the application and the payment and to write down to host name who’s a member and hosting the party and that’s the only way they can even entertain us. So I came the same day to drop off the paper work they had me waiting at the waiting area for an hour and told me since I know where’s the venue I’m more than welcome to walk my self and look at the room. I ask her if she can assist me sense I have a few questions about the venue and requirements. She told me they need the payment and application before they can give me any details. The whole time she walk me to the room she barely said a word to me and after she showed me the room she said she needs to go because she have an important call. I find it amazing how they treat people! Me and my family been attending this church for years and donate to this church I understand you have to be a member to untilized the room but whatever happened to customer service and being nice! I see we only good for...
