5 star because the elderly couple that owned it.... Loves to tell stories about everything. I do wish they had cold/hot drinks to sell like out of an old come box but I'm sure visitors are few and far between. This is a look back to the early 1900's and when STUFF ment something. Everything they used back then were built or ment to be used forever and not a throw away item. There is so many "little" things to look at so take your time. As we got through hearing the story from each of them... The elderly man allowed us to take a picture of him in the Old Post Office box which was in service until 2020 when the United States postal service had them close it. One more thing that will go away in time. My friend David and I spent at least an hour there looking at all the little things everywhere from the stuff behind glass cases, nailed to the wall, stacked in corners, and of course had to hear stories. As we were leaving we both looked at each other and said what a shame it's going to be when this couple passes on or can't operate it anymore, because more than likely it won't be anyone to keep it going and this will be one more part of small town Americana gone forever. I can't believe I've never seen this in all the years that I've ridden in the area.....shame on me. I will be back.

What an awesome find out in rural Arkansas. If you're in the area or just passing through make sure to stop by and see a piece of history. The shop owner is VERY knowledgeable and was so very kind during our visit. She showed us around the shop and was a wealth of knowledge about the are and the subject of the museum itself. It was so impressive, my only complaint is we didn't stay longer to absorb more history. Dont miss out on the gems to the left as soon as you walk in, under the glass counter you'll find handmade quilts that are superb in their design and execution. Fun fact, the post office inside the store is still operational to this day and is the original post office setup.

What a great piece of Arkansas history. The owners are quite knowledgeable about both the radio hosts and the history of the town. I am a sucker for these kind of attractions and this one does not disappoint.

The Huddleston Store and McKinzie Store, now the Lum and Abner Museum, were made famous by Chet Lauk and Norris Goff, who were known throughout the country as "Lum and Abner" to radio listeners and movie goers throughout the 1930s. They were listed on the National Register on...
