Tee Time Golf Pass Users Beware:
Piney Apple advertises the following "deal" in the book. "One free play with one paid M-Th after 10am; Fri, weekends and holidays after 1pm. Unlimited. Offer based on regular rates only. Cash only." I went there today (Sunday), after 1:00 with the expectation of getting a free round with one paid. I presented my book, they initialed it and charged me $23. My friend, who was my paid partner to get the deal, does not have tee time book. He was charged $25. I was told $23 is the manadatory cart fee on the weekend. I questioned the resulting $2 greens fee, and was met with nothing more than a laugh.
This is at best false advertisement, and bordering on lying. This was not a "free play with one paid"
Although I enjoyed my round today, I will never be returning and can not recommend this course due to this deceptive advertising, and outright lies.
I have contacted the course to make sure this deal is honored appropriately for others, and will update this review if/when I hear back from them.
*UPDATE: I have received an explanation from the course. Long story short, after some voodoo math they arrive at a cost of $23 each for you and your partner. Nowhere close to the "free play with one paid" that...
Read moreThe price we were given when we called for the tee time yesterday was $5 less than the price the lady demanded us to pay today. When we asked about the price difference the lady stated, "You don't know how expensive it is to run a golf course."
She then proceeded to follow us around the course harassing us about our carts being to close to greens (we pulled just off the cart path), letting other groups play through if they're faster than us (wasn't a group within two holes of us), and even the number of people playing in our group, for some inexplicable reason
The course itself isn't terrible, but the signage is often concealed causing confusion about where the holes are. The 8th hole has a green that is next to a green for a different hole which can lead to confusion regarding where you are attempting to shoot. The course is very compact which led to multiple groups wayward tee shots to land in each other's fairways. The greens were in good condition, but the tee boxes were in terrible condition.
The clubhouse is essentially non-existent. It is a window on the side of a trailer. Bring your own food or drinks. Hope that you have no need to use the restroom. The cost is not worth the treatment...
Read moreI've only been golfing a few years with no formal lessons. I love to relax and enjoy a nice game whether I'm any good or not. If a group comes up on us we let them play through never had issues, ever. On this note, this past weekend was my first time on this particular course. We had a large group but the lady accepted our reservation to pay 18 holes. The course was gorgeous and we enjoyed ourselves until the lady chased us down at hole 4 and told us we needed to hurry up. Upon talking to the group behind us later they informed us the lady was telling them she was gonna make us hurry up. Meanwhile they had no issue with us. There was never any issues with anyone and the need to let anyone play through never even happened. I've never felt so unwelcome by some redneck lady stepping out of a 1970s trailer for a clubhouse treating us like crap. Never again will I go there. If you want to relax and enjoy a good game, go to Great Cove. They...
