This review is specifically on the management of the aquatics center. What started as a very positive experience became a nightmare.

We started with private swim lessons for my son back in 2024 and purchased a 5 day private lesson to try it out. We loved our lessons with Jessica and when our lessons were about to run out we went ahead and purchased a 10 day private lesson ($480). Before our lessons ran out Jessica stopped doing private lessons so we asked to get a refund.

From the Aquatics Coordinator: "Unfortunately, we are unable to issue refunds based on the instructor's decision to move on. However, I would be happy to arrange for a new instructor or offer you a credit that can be used at the JCC."

So we did as directed and got on the schedule for a new instructor for our last two lessons. And this happened:

On Thursday July 31 at 6pm (First Lesson), we drove to JCC and got turned away from the pool closure due to the storm. The storm was understandable, but was never notified ahead of time and when we reached out to the instructor via email, no email or apology was given.

On Monday August 4 at 6pm, the instructor never acknowledged the mistake and once again cancelled our August 7 at 6pm lesson because she can no longer do the lesson.

It is a shame that I need to write this review to warn people about this management team. My family will no longer waste anymore of our time...

This place has everything! It's a great community place where we can meet with other members of the community - both young and old, alike. We love coming here, as it always feels like family! And the J-Fit gym facilities and classes are unbeatable. Not only do they have a huge indoor pool that can be used year-round, but they have 2 gyms with multiple other fitness rooms, as well as one outside on the turf. They offer all sorts of different fitness classes from spin and cycling, to aqua zumba, to power HIIT & energy HIIT classes, boxing, TRX-treme, cardio & sculpt & yoga. They also have a large gymnasium full and half-court basketball set-ups and 3 pickleball courts. (They may be one of the only pickleball spots in all of Fairfax!?) Visited for the Just Between Friends kids sale. The community center staff is professional and organized. With the machine down and an influx of people, they did a great job getting people to the event on time. I went last year as well and the outside of the building was graffitied with hate language, and the center staff was still welcoming, open, and professional. The pool looks great, well-kept. The bathrooms had touches I appreciate like a working automatic soap dispenser near the changing table. Really...
