The Resort RV Park — Local services in Mesa

First off, I am giving this review for the staff not the park as a whole. When we first checked in on 11/18/19 we were led to believe that internet and cable was included, plus we were charged 2,5% to use a credit card. Which I think is ridiculous...that is the cost of doing business, plus we were charged $10.00 for gate key card so we could come into the park after hours... again I just paid over $1000.00 and now I am paying to get into the park. So we paid and went our merry way. So we were escorted to our site by a very nice man and got set up and once that chore was completed we started to relax after being on the road for 4 days. That night we tried to get online but could not this puzzled me because my 5th wheel is set up for internet. So the next day Lu went to the office to find out why the internet was not working.We were told that we would be required to buy a modem and then just bring the serial number up and they would get it set up. So off we went in search of the required equipment. So with the new modem and serial number in hand up to the office Lu went. Only to be told that was not how it worked... we would be required to set an appointment with a company so that they could come out and install the necessary equipment and that we would be required to pay $45.00 for this service. Lu returned and informed me of this. I immediately went up to the office and spoke with a lady named Lynn. I told her exactly what the website had stated and that this is not what I would call full disclosure. But after some heated discussion Lu and I left the office saying this is b......t. So the next day the company comes out does their thing when I say I need to get some money to pay them they say do not worry about it, you will be billed by the park. Smells fishy but okay... No worries.. So much for Full Disclosure. So lets move on to 11/26/19 I am an entertainer and so when I approached the park activities director Ann, about needing to practice and that I would be willing to even entertain the residents by the pool for no charge, allowing to get my paractice time in. It seemed like a perfect fit. Ann even asked if I would be interested in doing a show at her site after the golf cart parade in which I replied yes, I would be happy to do it. So we parted ways after discussing some other things about how long we were at the park and how long we would be in the valley. Ann is such a nice and accommodating lady. She even offered to see if we could extend our stay in the park. So we parted company I went to share the news with Lu. Soon there was a knock on my door and I was surprised to see Ann. She asked if I had a minute to which I replied sure. She was very cordial and told me about a discussion that she had with the lady Lynn from the office. And of my offer to not only entertain the residents by the pool for free but also that I was willing to entertain after the golf cart parade. To make a long story short because I had voiced my opinion to lynn about my feelings about the misleading statements on the website and services not included I would not be allowed to entertain anywhere in the park. I have been a business man for many years and have had business dealings all over the world. What an injustice, not only to be dishonest, but to allow 1 self serving individual so much power. Quite expensive to begin with and they don't have full disclosure of add on fees (internet supposed to be free but have to buy a certain router AND pay to have an independent come to install..which took 3 trips to office to find out). Add on for gate keys. Add on for credit card use. After we pointed out the deceptive policies, they banned us from using our expensive rented space as we needed to, as they were offended!! My other half is an entertainer and needs to practice daily, but they have banned him from singing anywhere in the Park, even on our site! There is nothing on their website or in their rules and regulations that prohibit that. In fact, they have rooms that are not in use and the rules book states they can be reserved for private use. Spacious rv spots, nice pool and spa, workout room, studio 55 room, post office and lots of activities indoors and out. Staff is cheerful, friendly and helpful, a great crew. The only down side is that the dog park is far away from the "dog RV section" and you are only allowed to walk your dog on the short (4) "dog RV section" streets and not to the dog park. There is access to a outside gate for longer walks outside the park. But, dogs can't read those signs that say 'no dogs pass...
