Drivers beware: The driver of this white pick up truck is an employee of Costco. They made it a point to block me from backing into the dock area. They knew what they were doing and they’re rude to truck drivers. A little common sense goes a long way. I will make sure to report the incident to corporate. Do better by your truck drivers and customers Costco! Let me experience this behavior again for your employee and I will expose this Costco location on TikTok. As I’m reading the reviews, it seems like your staff has issues with people of color and discrimination. My suggestion is for management to do an undercover visit to this location and ask that your rude employee park in other areas of the parking lot instead of in front of the dock area. Thank you!

Always a pleasure! But be warned though, there’s no such thing as a “quick visit” here ha ha ha. One trip would cost at least a hundred bucks. At least. They got a lot of good stuff. You do save a lot for buying in bulk though, as long as you really consume that certain product. Be an intelligent shopper too when you’re here. My favorite steals are the Lakanto Monkfruit Sweeteners. So far this is the only store where I could get 1Lb packs of this and for less than $10. Other groceries carrying Lakanto only has the smaller packs (half size) but costs the same! Other products I like to buy here are of course from their flagship brand Kirkland. A lot cheaper yet same quality (maybe not with all products, but nothing is perfect anyway).

The store itself was fine. We stopped at the food court and ordered a slice of pizza and a chicken Caesar salad. The expiration date on the salad was 7-10. Much of the chicken was grisly, full of skin, slimy and parts were undercooked. The lettuce had huge chunks of the base, or root of the romaine. I've never gotten that in a salad before. The last straw was a large leaf covered in frothy brown stuff which could have been mold or worse. They refunded my money when I took the salad to customer service. I have to say I was surprised at the lack of quality control. Their salads used to be a treat. I will never eat or purchase another salad from here.

i’ve seen pedestrians almost get hit by a car on every visit to this terribly planned out parking lot. With this sheer volume of people that attend this location, there needs to be better consideration for pedestrian traffic bc of the inherent impatience and carelessness that comes with a large crowd. I don’t know if it is Costco or human nature, but this place brings out the worst in people.

People in cars attempt to run you down. Perhaps they don’t see you or perhaps they don’t care because all they are interested in is saving some money.

The facility is clean and the products are adequate for the cost.

Don’t expect to find something in the same place every week. They will often move items arbitrarily without thought or consistency. Good luck hunting for your typical staple. It may just disappear for two weeks for no reason or warning but you wouldn’t know. The inconsistent location means maybe you missed it.

perhaps the most disappointing part of this store are the staff. While, generally, they are pleasant and nice. I’ve seen staff members ram people with carts stacked full of boxes, slam patrons in the shoulders as they walked past, and generally present, a rude disinterested demeanor when not doing a specific customer facing role. It’s almost as if the volume of people makes the employees believe that people are cattle. And they treat them as such.

Expect to be accosted at the AT&T counter as they bark and yell at the stream of people walking by attempting to draw you in. You can see people brace against their onslaught every time, gripping their carts with white knuckles, trying to avoid eye contact.

Be ready to present your membership card an excessive amount of times and prove that you are, indeed the cardholder. Why do we have to show it 4 times just to scan it at the register?

Just ugh. But the deals.

for the amount of people that flow through here, the internal layout is a disaster of people flowing. Expect your fellow shoppers to ignore common courtesy, and cause, excessive backups, confusion, don’t be surprised if you get hit with somebody’s shopping cart; it probably wasn’t their fault they were avoiding some other person who randomly stopped for a sample or was asked to present their membership card in a demeaning and humiliating way.

I believe that the horrible layout of the store is what leads to people behaving so poorly. I loathe going to Costco but am addicted to the sweet sweet discounts at bulk...

I’ve been meaning to extend my gratitude to the hearing dept. at Mettawa Costco for awhile.

First off the audiologist and her staff exceeded all of my expectations and clearly outperformed all other hearing professionals I had seen before them. Of course in one particular instance this was easy. They knew I had an appointment!

The Costco staff had no issues reviewing the hearing test performed by others and performed an additional test after explaining what it would consist of prior to starting. The entire time I wasn’t made to feel like I was on the clock as they explained the results of all the tests and the options available to move forward with a purchase. I am convinced a lot of this is due to the fact the staff does not work on commission.

This could also explain why they saved me between $3,500.00 - $5,000.00 compared to the other private professional audiologists in the area who’s assistant’s are referred to as “Medical Specialist”.

For those of you unfamiliar with the term, this translates into “Salesman on Commission” who had all tried in vain to get me to sign off on their more expensive hearing aids ASAP because “it was what I needed.”

At Costco, my choices were not as widespread as the private hearing firms but they did include some top brands in addition to their own “Kirkland” brand. I chose Resound™ and have no regrets but in all fairness, I also drive a Toyota without regretting it is not a Bentley. Your feeling’s could differ?

I can also attest to the warrantee which also far exceeds any of those offered by the private firms I tried. At Costco I have come in to have the hearing aids adjusted and cleaned and never had an issue and always free. Other warrantees offered to me by others were pro-rated after just a few months.

While hearing aids are considered medical devices, they are also electronic and with today’s technology they should be getting better and cheaper but it just isn’t happening. You saw the part where I saved $$$ when compared to what some other hearing firms were trying to sell me? Need I say more?

Thank You Costco - Mettawa hearing...

it's my first time being here and I think that was the worst I ever had I barely could find anyone to help me I was walking all over the store trying to look for items I I really didn't like it at all there is no friendly helpful person anywhere in the store except for the cashiers and then the cashiers didn't even tell me that I that they don't have back there they expect me to know that this is like my first time being and I didn't know this I was shopping for instacart I don't normally go to the stores missed or super big there should be a map somewhere someone greeting you asking you if you need any help it sat there staring at my receipt like for 5 minutes to see if I had everything that was on the sheet it was just ridiculous I'm sorry but there wasn't enough people to help I had to ask customers where the eggs were, I know the reason why I ask the customer cuz that's all they had milk and eggs and I'm like I cannot find it. the people inside there were like vultures they're sitting there waiting for a bunch of freebies getting in the way when a bug is in the middle of the aisle so many people it is so congested I can't believe they expected me the finish that order within 20 minutes and be delivered but then 10 it was crazy and I don't think I want to go back over there unless it's a big order because it was ridiculous no map no help no tour...
