Our small business is growing, and we wanted to hire our first full-time marketing person. One of Impact's sales reps replied to our job posting and claimed to be able to handle our marketing for the salary we listed on the job posting (spoiler - this is not true).
They charged $8,000 to perform an assessment and put together a proposal. They presented their plan, and we spent several months refining the scope and budget. The process was very personalized, and they were very eager to please. We signed the contract, and that's when things went off the rails. Instead of picking up the signed contract, they emailed me to say they could no longer do the work for the proposed price...after a video call to explain they had made a miscalculation, they now want more than twice the price listed in the contract (to do the same work). I told them that was not the budget we had discussed from day 1, and this had all been a waste of everyone's time. Then a very impersonal VP of Impact divorced us via video call.
I don't think Impact is a marketing company for small businesses, and I question their business ethics. This is a cautionary tale for working with this marketing agency; small businesses beware, and prepare to spend a lot of money if you want to work...
