Went in for a tire check - and specifically stated that NO WORK was to be done without my prior approval. nevertheless, they balanced all four tires and presented me with a bill...I believe it was more than 80 dollars. I agreed to pay half and they gave me a free oil change after I posted a complaint online. Had the oil change recently and honestly I dont really think they did the job. I know my car very well, and how it runs after an oil change versus before. Subarus really like to have an oil change, and they get much better gas mileage after every change - for awhile. After this supposed oil change I received from VIP in my town, the car ran no better than before the change. I cant prove anything, but I know my car. However, I went in again just recently for an emergency flat repair. Of course they claimed I needed a brand new tire, but after being more than firm with my refusal to buy a new tire, they relented and patched the hole caused by a small nail. But, while I was waiting for the repair to be done, the guy doing the work came out and told me that my tire sensor had just broken off when he was in the process of doing the repair. I believe he said it happened when he was putting the tire back on the rim but am not certain. In any case, what I do know is that the sensor was working when I came into the store - it is the tire warning light that warned me I had a problem - and somehow it was broken during the tire repair. And they wanted to charge me 80-90 dollars to replace it - if they had one in stock. I was so angry, that I didnt dare speak or get started there in the store with a discussion about it. I am liable to get pretty loud in such confrontations. But the issue is not dead, and a word of warning if you are considering going to VIP. Whether these incidents were due to human error, or deliberate attempts at something more dishonest, it is not good either way. If you have to go there, be prepared for a...
Read more“ I live in Vermont and had my car serviced there by the dealership I bought it from, they did and oil change and tire rotation. The same day I was driving to Maine and felt a vibration that was new. I checked all 4 tires and fount the rear left lug nuts were all loose. I was close to VIP Tires and Service so I pulled in to get the situation rectified, I explained my situation to Don Edwards and he got my car in right away and torqued all 4 tires and verified the rear left lug nuts were loose. When I tried to pay him for his service he said that there was no charge and when I tried to give him a tip he refused it also. Don is an excellent representative of you company and an ambassador of good will. I wish I either lived in Maine or that you had service locations in Vermont, I would recommend your company to anyone based on the fine caring service I received with Don Edwards. When I had a conversation about this with the GM of the dealership I bought the car at and had the service done he summed it up for me very nicely. He said “I received better service from a company I have never given a penny to then what I receives from the dealership I have given tens of thousands of dollars to”. It shouldn’t be about the money, it should be about having pride in yourself and the work you do that represents you. Don has...
Read moreHad an appointment for snow tire change over, went to drop the car off the night before, and went to leave the keys in the drop box only to find out the drop box is not "drop the key in" and you cant get it back. Its a metal box bolted to the building that anyone can walk up to, open and grab the key from and take your car at ANYTIME, day or night. They also make you sign a piece of paper claiming their not liable if any theft occurs... DO NOT LEAVE KEYS IN THIS BOX! Incredibly unsafe..
Went back in the morning to drop the key off instead, to then later get a call that they will not do the snow tire change over because "one tire is close to the wear bar" But the tires that are almost bald that are on the car are better??
I've also had this place scratch my brand new wheels out of the box, then claim the damage wasn't caused by them, even though I have picture and video proof of the wheels before they were handed over to them for tire dismount.
Id rather walk around before letting these people service any vehicle related things for...
