Slow pinsetters - guessing they only keep 13-14 pins back there as opposed to the 20 they're supposed to so if you throw a strike you don't have to wait for pins to come down. OLD equipment - don't let the synthetic lane surfaces fool you. The pins, pinsetters, and ball return equipment... it's one thing for them to be old. It's another to be poorly maintained. I've had to move lanes because of breakdowns (and birthday parties they forgot about) more than a few times. Humidity problems in the center - I almost broke my ankle tripping over myself sliding. they tried "cleaning" the approach and it made it worse. Yet another time they had to move me to another lane - the humidity causes the approaches to be sticky. Health hazard! For what it is, it's expensive. They've spent too much money on sound equipment, glow bowling, a new sign, and a poor outside paint job to remember that BOWLING goes on there. And it's pretty obvious the owner cares more about maintaining his pizza oven than the bowling equipment. And don't forget that the specials they advertise on their site are almost NEVER valid! If you try to utilize a special within a week of any holiday you're out of luck. It's almost impossible to believe the SAME GROUP OWNS CROSSGATE LANES. It's sad that the worst place within 10 minutes of my house was Milford Lanes, then it closed down, and the worst place within 10 minutes of my house is now Eastgate Lanes. Worst bowling place ever! Our group took up two lanes, and we paid to play two games. The first round, our lane (8) kept messing up. The lane would automatically reset between one bowler’s turn, giving that bowler a spare when he/she actually didn’t earn it. Balls were constantly getting stuck and not coming back. Pins were dropping and falling over. I think we had to ask for help more than 10 times. They finally switched us to two new lanes (11 & 12). Those lanes were just as bad. Balls weren’t returning, lanes weren’t resetting. It took us 3 hours to bowl 2 games because of so many issues. I think the worst part was the safety issue. At one point, they took the cover off the ball return (they were trying to figure out what was up with the ball return), left it exposed while the gears were all running and had us bowl. We had kids in our group, the youngest was 4. ABSOLUTELY UNACCEPTABLE. When our group attempted to get a refund, we were denied. We would have to contact Jeff the next day. The manager was present and behind the counter, but since she was “off the clock” she couldn’t do anything. If you’re behind the counter, you’re on duty and should be willing to resolve issues. They attempted to give coupons for bowling session, but who the heck wants to come back and deal with this again. I’ve never been here before and I never want to return. We have been going to eastgate lanes for several years now. Usually it is not the best. Every time we go the ball gets stuck or the lanes won’t work properly. We kept going cause despite that the employees were nice and my son loved the pizza there. This Sunday the 28th of November we went there to go bowling and it was horrible they barely had anyone there but they put us and three other groups of people right on top of each other.When we first got there the table that was closest to our lane was litter with all kinds of trash that had been there a while. The guy finally came and took the trash away but did not wipe the table. There was sticky stuff all over the floor and all over the table. It was filthy. We originally paid for two games for four people. The radio was so loud it gave me a headache. I asked for the manager and told him we was only going to play one game and cancel pizza because of all that was wrong. He didn’t say sorry he just said to someone else give her money back. I asked three times for them to turn down music but they didn’t. This is the last time we will come here. We have been there at least 50 times. This is the last time we will go there.
