I’m not one to post things like this so PLEASE READ. It just may save you or someone you know from being taken hundreds of dollars! James and I hired what was formerly known as Sears in Middlesboro Ky/Fortners Home Connection owned and ran by Jim Fortner to make repairs on our appliances that isn’t very old at all. They are Kitchenaid brand and well made however the refrigerator freezer and ice maker wasn’t cooling properly and one stove burner that wasn’t working. Long story short after two months of multiple trips and them ordering wrong parts several times and also forgetting to order the parts I ended with a refrigerator that now doesn’t work at all (top or bottom) and burner that we were told was bad wasn’t bad after all. It was the knob which we paid another $160 for (we paid for the new burner only for them to take it back and not refunded the $240 it costed us) the loss of over $500 in groceries on two separate occasions all because the “it is now fixed” not truly being fixed and causing the food to spoil. So after 3 months of non stop having to order and reorder parts and have repairs done and nearly $1100 dollars in labor and parts I’m with a refrigerator that is still not working!! I was yelled at, laughed at and told my money would not be returned that I was free to take him to court (which I am doing) our money is being refused to be returned. SAVE YOUR MONEY AND TIME and do not hire this business for any type of repair’s. Please share this post to help word spread about how crooked Mr.Fortner is! The thing is we bought those appliances there as it was a local business and we wanted to help out those in...
Read moreJim Fortner. What can I say about this guy? The man has a tendency to talk too fast and try to get you to sign up for more than needed. I asked the man point blank that if I leased a refrigerator, would I own it by the end of the contract at the price listed and he said "yes." The whole time he's rushing me to "go ahead and press accept and we'll see what we can do" when asked about putting down a larger down payment. I get home and start reading the contract printed out and it clearly states that once the lease is up I then have the option to PAY MORE (about 500 bucks more) for owning the refrigerator. Not what I was looking for especially after the salesman explicitly told me that I'd be paying the price listed for the product and nothing more. I'm currently trying to call the store to see what could be done about all of this and no one is answering the phone. Not to mention the phone numbers listed for me on the receipt aren't even my phone numbers. I have no idea who these numbers belong to. I don't know if this guy was in a hurry to get back to lunch or what but this is honestly horrible customer service and I honestly doubt I'll ever set foot in another Sears again. Seriously left a bad taste in my mouth. If you're going to shop here be warned about the leasing program and fast...
Read moreMixed feelings about this business. Ordered an appliance with the promise that it would be placed on an earlier truck to meet our timeline. When I followed up with the owner, he initially said that an appliance had arrived but it was for another customer, and that mine would arrive later than expected.. no apology, just a matter of fact. When I press the matter about his promise at the time of ordering, he put me on an extended hold, and return to say that the appliance he thought was for another customer, was in fact the oven I ordered. He began to explain that he would not be able to get it delivered that day as promised because his delivery person was out conducting other business. I again press the issue of his promise, and he reluctantly said he would deliver it after he closed up the store that evening, which he did. I did learn however that the large box at the stove had been treated in was left behind, instead of loaded on the truck as would be typical in a delivery process. If you've read my words, you understand why my feelings are mixed about this business. Should you choose to do business with this company, start with a clear message of accountability so you don't go through the same...
