I love haunted world and have gone every year with my friends for the last 8ish years. Every year I feel like the quality falls out a little more. This year I was fairly disappointed with what we got out of the experience. The most obvious was the price increase was a bit much this year. Not a huge deal, I figured they would’ve added some more features to the attraction. I did however go on a weekday night which I believe (or hope) that they just have less staffing for since weekends tend to bring larger crowds. But with that I feel like there were less actors and less scary moments throughout. One thing I loved was all the interactions you got with creepy characters when buying tickets/hanging out in the hay bales/ or when at the concession stands, but this year I felt like I got none of that. I thought skullvania was great, but it’s gotten very animatronic heavy so you don’t get very many scare actors as you go through so nothing very scary. The corn maze was the my biggest disappointment this year. I noticed a couple new implements to the walkthrough, but again I don’t think there was very many actors through the maze to really get you, or a very strong focus to keep groups separated. I noticed that the man that does his duty in the water didn’t have the water effect to go with him so that was very disappointing to see. And they entirely got rid of on of the props going through the clown session. The fog machine got way to heavy going through a narrow walk at some point that I was trying harder not to breathe in a ton of fog and trying to focus not tripping than even considering the scariness/creepiness to the feature. I truly think that some of these issues could perhaps be because I went on a weekday instead of a weekend, but if that is the case pricing should differ more for Monday-Thursday vs Friday and Saturday. I love haunted world and would love to continue to go in the future, but the price that it’s getting to makes makes it harder to justify spending on this place. A lot of festivals have cheaper entry prices and more to do while there than Haunted world and that’s very...
Read moreSo I know I'm going to sound like a Karen but here we go... I love haunted houses but this one missed the mark by a long shot and here's why. First, the few scares you actually had were ruined because we were essentially moving through as one long line of multiple groups shoved together. I know it makes the wait longer but it's so worth it to be able to just go through with your group. Try to allow space between individual groups (those that came together) and have checkpoints with actors to make sure people are spaced out and going through at the right speed. Not that you had enough actors. Mind you I do understand there's a shortage of people wanting to actually work right now so that's not entirely your fault. However with so few actors, they should definitely be spread out more and not clumped together like they were. Because of this there were long stretches of just walking through scenes. On the topic of actors, the ones you do have, there were only a couple that actually were into it. The rest you could tell were simply there for a paycheck. Do better. With the space you have and the props, there's a ton of missed potential here which is sad to see. Most of the animatronics were just distracting and annoying and were much too heavily relied on. There were some good parts, like the slide and the circus set up, but they were few and far between. Honestly disappointed and definitely not worth the money. This was my 1st time going so I'd like to give the benefit of the doubt and say hopefully it was a fluke given the current times/events/circumstances but it's hard to look past this...
Read moreThis is our second time going to haunted world. I typically don’t leave reviews, but really wanted someone to know our experience so that maybe it can be improved upon in the future, especially since we drive over from Oregon. Haunted World is 5/5 stars for set up and decor. The actors are amazing. The reason for the 3/5 star review is because there were so many people, that you couldn’t enjoy it. When we went 3 years ago, it was not nearly this busy, and so I didn’t feel like this problem occurred. We were all packed in even on the trail in the corn field. There was no space in between groups of people. So it felt like you went from waiting in line, to walking through the haunt in a big slow line. There really isn’t an opportunity to experience the scares when the group right in front of you gives it away. I think our time would have been improved had they allotted so many people in the haunts at a time. We brought our friends with us for the first time this year, and we all agreed it was fun, but not something we would want to do again for this reason. I hope this...
