Hoover's is a thrift grocery, as such they carry a smaller selection of items than your typical supermarket. Thrift grocers carry items that come from distributers or other markets that are overstock, seconds, or nearing their expiration dates. This does not mean the items are not desirable, quite the opposite. These varied items tend to be local brands as well as national, but often aren't found at the usual big chain stores. There are hidden gems everywhere among the shelves, and the prices are amazingly low on some of these products. It's worth the drive just for this alone.
Unlike some thrift grocery stores, Hoover's carries a lot of staples and cooking needs that are packaged in-house. People who love to bake will find everything needed here. Their selection of flour, sweeteners, leavenings, flavors and the like alone surpass what most stores stock. There is plenty to be had for people who bake in large quantities. They also have local baked goods on sale as well. The produce section is small, but has a lot of good fruits and vegetables especially when they are in season. The trick to shopping at Hoover's is to come in frequently. Items change weekly and once some of them are gone, you might not see it again.
Being that the store is operated by Amish folks, the staff is friendly and helpful, and they run a clean and well organized shop. Payment is by cash or check, no credit cards. This helps keep the prices low. It's worth the trip out of your way...

Update the web search for future people.
