Rock Island Conservation Club — Local services in Milan

Mixed feelings. Love this place to death, and the declaired mission of conservation. However..... Its more of a social activity than the mission of conservation. Was on the board for about 3 months until I realized the board was not interested in preserving the club and keeping trespassers out. Have asked about posting more no trespassing signs, and was told quite angrily that we run on volunteers and if i want them so badly volunteer and do it myself. Im sorry I didnt know keeping trespassers out was that much of an imposition... Some of us work for a living and do not have the time to donate and belong to relax on...

I spent a week at the camp as a volunteer with my sons club scout pack. It was a beautiful facility that was very clean. I am going to look in to becoming a member to take advantage of the camping there. Docked one star for being overrun with poison ivy and not being able to swim...
