The very distinct and overwhelming odor of vented sewage that wafted over the entire yard during the wedding ceremony I was a bridesmaid in is not even the worst part of this place.

Let's start with our arrival on Friday to set up for the Saturday wedding. The owner, Sue, told the bride and groom that they would need to handle all clean up, including pressure washing the floors. She insisted that the cookie table and coffee needed to be served outside because she didn't want crumbs on her floor.

Cleaning up would be fine if the place was not a disgusting mess when we arrived. There was cutlery on the floor, decor from previous weddings/parties all over, blue icing smeared on tables and chairs. Several chairs had coffee or pop puddles in them. The floor looked like it hadn't been cleaned in months- there was mold that had to be scrubbed off of all the out door tables, mold growing all over the outdoor curtains, cigarette butts everywhere, broken glass on the floor.

We tried to set things up for the ceremony and buffet dinner. Sue was overbearing and controlling of this. Moved the placement of the buffet tables because she likes them better in the middle.

We asked if there were towels we could use to wipe surfaces down in the event of rain. She told us to go to Lowe's and buy them and take them home after because she didn't want to do laundry after we left. She also moved things we set up for the ceremony the morning of while we were getting ready because she thought it looked better.

We stayed at the BnB, and she provided "breakfast" the morning of the wedding. I requested milk for my coffee because the nondairy creamers she provided were curdled (I didn't even know those could go bad, but apparently they can). She stated that she doesn't drink store bought milk because they live on a dairy farm, and she didn't know what she would do with a half gallon of milk after that morning so she didn't buy any. She also claimed that it was somehow the guests' fault for her creamers going bad because they left them out ( they're individually packaged mini creamers that don't require refrigeration).

She also casually mentioned at the end of breakfast to the bride that she would need to clean up breakfast. When I looked over by the toaster she had left the knife she cut the bread with along with the cutting board full of crumbs, left the dishes out etc...

Sue also told us we would need to thoroughly clean the BnB before we left- which I would have been happy to do, except that there were beer cans, wrappers, make up packaging etc under my bed, beard trimmings in my sink, small curly hairs and smeared filth in the shower, and urine and feces on the toilet rim.

The toilet in the basement had feces sprayed all over it as well. I didn't look in any one else's room nor did I ask them because I didn't want to upset the bride or groom.

There was also no hot water. I didn't test out the shower because it was disgusting, but the groom's shower was freezing, and every time we tried to wash our hands or the dishes, the water was cold.

I could go on with examples of how terrible dealing with the owner and facilities was, but this review is already too long.

I wouldn't go back to this place if Sue paid me. I could look past the filthy accommodations and even the vented sewage smell, but I can't look past her rude, controlling, argumentative, micromanaging buffoonery. The small amount of money you may save by booking this place is not worth the stress and...

First off I want to say that my wedding was very nice. Our wedding day was very special, HOWEVER. The venue is beautiful but the owner (Sue) is the worst person I have ever had to deal with. We had to have everything how she wanted and everything placed where she wanted it, which included putting hundreds of dollars of food outside in the rain. It was raining so hard we had to close the doors to the barn because it was coming in sideways. She also wanted to put the food out herself but she smelled like a pig pen so why would we want her to touch the food. She contradicts herself constantly, saying in emails we could come at any time to decorate and then she yelled at us for not telling her what time we were there on Monday to decorate. She also claims that we needed to tell her who the caterer was and the dj was, when we didn’t have one. We made our own food and had our own sound system. We told her if there were rules she wanted people to follow she should post them online or in the venue, but she claims that the rules are different for everyone. Which makes absolutely no sense. The sceptic system is horrible and every-time you flushed the toilet it smelled like raw sewage. She also yelled at us and blamed my mom for things when we were cleaning up this morning. She said we never communicated with her about anything and that “everything was fine until you guys got here.” There was nothing to communicate because we did everything ourselves. She said our wine coolers were “liquor” and we shouldn’t have had them since we didn’t have a bartender. We only had beer and wine there because a bartender is too expensive frankly. She accused me of stealing because I had her bread trays in my hand and was walking towards the outside (I was going to put them back in the house). She also told me I was “foul mouthed” when I yelled back at her for berating my mom. All she had to do was come get her money & leave, yet she chose to act unprofessional and disrespectful towards us. She said we are never allowed to come back & honestly you couldn’t pay me enough to even want to go back.

Unless you want to be berated and made to feel like an idiot, don’t ever come here. It’s sad because we have had other events here in the past, and everything went smoothly because we were in contact with the other sister, who is so much nicer. I feel bad for her because her sister Sue is ruining...

I had my wedding here this past weekend. The area is in a great location and the venu is absolutely beautiful. The barn stays nice and cool unlike alot of barn venus I have been to however the ownership is absolutely awful. We talked to her the Wednesday before the wedding to see how many tables to set up for our head count of 115 and we set up the amount of tables she told us to. The day of my wedding she started causing problems as soon as she came out. Yelling at my bridesmaids for where we parked, talking down to them, yelling at them for where we decided to set up certain tables such as my cake table and cards table. She even was yelling at my photographer for where she parked. Brooke (my photographer) had shot a wedding there before and parked in the same spot she (the owner sue) had her park for that wedding. As soon as my parents got there and paid her she tried telling them we set up for 150 people and they owed her more money however we set up the amount of chairs she told us to for 115. She tried to charge them $100 more than what have I in writing that we owed her and she was on them all day. They should not have had to deal with that the day their daughter got married. Another thing when our photobooth arrived and set up she was yelling at my bridesmaids that she didn't want it where we decided to have her set up. However she herself suggested we set it up there only 3 days prior to the day of. No where in any contract did she say we had to feed her, however she was eating our pies and first in line for the buffet even before the bridal party. She told us all she does the day of weddings is park cars and she was doing so much more than that including socializing with our guest and bad mouthing us to our closest friends and family who came to help us celebrate. I would NOT recommend having your wedding here. All the trouble the owner caused the day of was completely unprofessional and uncalled for. I would have sooner paid the extra money for any other venu had I known the owner acted this way. Please keep in mind I was the bride and I know for a fact th here were more incidents sue caused that my wonderful bridesmaids kept from in order to keep me from...
