Butter's House — Local services in Milford

I can't rave enough about the facility, team, and important work that Kim, Bob, and the team at Butter's House do! We were fortunate enough to come across Butter's House when looking for therapeutic boarding options for our 13 year old terrier, Chura, who has some special care needs. My wife and I had an urgent need to travel for a funeral and some other family health-related issues and were very concerned where we could find sufficient care for our dear Chura during our absence. We were able to set up a "temperament check" meeting with Kim and Bob and from the moment we saw how clean the facility was, how much care was clearly put into the design and thoughtfulness to make it a comfortable safe space for the furry guests, we knew we found the exact place we were looking for. Bob took us for a tour of the facility while Chura hung out and played with Kim and Sydney. All of the boarding dogs looked happy, Bob knew them all by name, and we were impressed with how well-staffed the operation was with plenty of attention and support available. Getting the ok to Board Chura allowed us peace of mind while traveling to focus on some matters we otherwise couldn't have, and we got regular check-ins with pictures on how Chura was doing which we appreciated (including the pic below of her playing with a ball). I picked up Chura yesterday after a week and she looked happy and healthy as could be, and even tried jogging back in with Kim and Bob before we got in the car, which was proof to me we'd found a second home for her! I can't thank the wonderful team at Butter's House enough for the love and attention they extend to the animals they care for, and especially to the senior animals with special needs who other facilities would be unable to support. Lastly, knowing that Kim and Bob have had long careers and experience as vet techs provides extra confidence in the facility being qualified to manage the health and well being of their pet-guests. Butter’s House is the best boarding place for your pets with medical needs. Not only are they extremely well organized and truly care about the wellbeing of your pet, but our dog genuinely enjoys his time while we are away. Our dog has a complicated medicine schedule (2-4 pills given 4 different times throughout the day) with an unpredictable heart condition. Not only has it been difficult to find a boarding facility that can accommodate such complicated needs, but I also feel like I am leaving my dog in very caring and competent hands. The employees at Butter’s House know my dog’s med schedule very well because it’s all well documented in their IT systems, and they took his heart rate every morning per my request. Plus, you can schedule everything online without ever having to make a phone call – so it’s very convenient too. It feels incredibly professional yet personable, and that greatly eases the burden on the pet owner. I drive 3hrs roundtrip every time to leave my doggie in the best hands, and it’s incredibly worth it.

If your pet has complicated medical needs and it makes you nervous leaving them with others, trust that this is the place. Butter’s House is run like a medical facility in terms of organization and medical competency (the owners were former vet techs) yet has all the benefits of being a daycare with emphasis on enrichment, socialization, and fun! February 2025- Another 5 star visit for Penny at Butter's House. Always caring and careful. Over the years Penny has had many special needs which are always met to perfection. She always comes home safe and the same or better from when I dropped her off. ( bath at end of visit :) Thank you Butter House for a worry free vacation about our Penny.

I never need to worry about any special concerns I have with the care of my dog. This is our second visit and Penny always comes home safe and well cared for. 8/22 We stayed again and everything was perfect. Penny was still recovering from ACL surgery on week 12 and they took excellent care of her. She was well cared for. Highly recommend this place for your pet. Return visit this spring 2023. My Penny has a lot of unique issues and Butter House always makes Penny feel special and cared for. I know she is safe and well cared for every visit.
