This store, here since the beginning of time, Is one of the last bastions of mom and pop stores that dotted the landscape of an America of days past, that is now gone forever. The memory is vague for us few, and absent entirely from the many that will never know. The dream of American capitalism that says any man can have for himself whatever his heart desires, limited only by what he is willing to die for, largely out of reach for the common man. replaced by the faceless apathy of corporate juggernauts that pay slave wages and a benefits package to their full time workers when 90% are only offered part time for that very reason. Those few who qualify finds that the copay is as out of reach as the entire medical bill. A thousand dollars is the same as a million if you can't pay either. So visit these last slices of the American pie, when they're gone, and someday soon they will be, it is this man's absolute certainty, they will be gone forever. What makes county road store so special is not a jewel whose description can be quantified by the clunky awkward language of men. God's we are not. But if I where to manage to touch only the surface, I'd say it is real. It is not fake in any way. Everything. The employees, the people who work there as well as the patrons, the foods, the products, the home made candies and confections, all the way down to the worms they sell for bait, are absolutely 100 percent real as real can be. You'll be treated like family. good if you treat them good. But walk in there with the wrong attitude you'll get told right where to go. County road is everything you love about a small town local market. It has good food cooked on premises, both grab and go and made to order. There's so much to choose from with drinks, snack food as well as staples like milk, eggs, flour as well as hunting/fishing supplies. Parking can get crowded but people are in and out quickly.
