If you want to play golf in Milledgeville, you can either join the country club or you can play here. There are no other options. I play here regularly, and I enjoy it. It’s a municipal course and the green fees are inexpensive, so adjust your expectations accordingly. If there has been enough rain, the fairways are fairly nice. It is difficult to predict the speed of the greens. They can range from very slow to pretty fast. Hole # 14 is my favorite and #5 is also nice. #18 is possibly the worst designed hole I’ve ever played. You can hit a beautiful tee shot straight down the center of the fairway only to discover that your ball rolled into the water hazard on the left due to the steep sideways slope of the fairway that you can’t see from the tee box. If your ball stops short of the water, you still have a difficult side hill lie to contend with. Anyway, a great tee shot deserves a better outcome.
They are getting new carts with GPS soon. I think the money would have been better spent on course maintenance. The cart paths are very rough and the 150 yard markers (bird houses…such a cool idea) are in disrepair. Many of the fairways could be smoothed out a bit. The tee boxes are pretty rough as well.
I like the people that run the course and the workers who work there. They have always been friendly and helpful to me. I’ll keep playing here and I would recommend it to others as long as you manage your expectations. If you want optimum conditions, then you pay optimum prices. If you play 18 holes for well under $30, you won’t get...
Read moreI've been golfing here for years, on and off. The course is on a downhill run right now and nothing is being done about it. The prices for a weekday are pretty much the same as the weekend and the course is not in good shape. They run out of range balls before the afternoon a more often than not and for how much they charge you would expect them to be able to function properly. It's way easier and more enjoyable to run 15 - 20 min up the road to Lake janesco and get a happy face greeting you and a course that matches the price. I hope LFC can fix their problems because they have potential and it's...
Read moreTo be nice this place is awful and horribly managed. They don’t take care of the course. You better call before you go if you want to go to the range because they will have it closed for no reason, don’t know how you close a 40ft by 40ft patch of dirt and rocks. They “sell out” of range balls at 5 o'clock. They also overcharge for what the place is. You would think that little fishing creek is something like Augusta National or East Lake the way some of the employees act. It’s an awful muni course that doesn’t want to make money. Do not waste your...
