Lanham Mechanical Contractors — Local services in Millersville

WARNING: This company cuts corners, and then lies about it when they get caught.

This company was recommended to us when we were selling our home. During the inspection, there was an issue identified with the HVAC (that is less than 5 years old) and sellers asked for a service and for the issue to be repaired. We called Lanhams and told them we needed the service and to repair the issue in the crawl space. They came out the following week, charged us $295 for a service and to “clear a clogged drain” and said the issue was fixed. When the inspector returned to verify repairs, the issue had not been fixed. By this time, two weeks had passed.

When we contacted Lanhams, they said that they were never told about the issue in the crawl space and that entering the crawl space is not part of their maintenance routine. They came back to look at the issue (now only four days from scheduled closing) and quoted $1,200 to fix the issue.

They did not have an answer for why their tech allegedly completed full maintenance on the unit and missed an issue apparently worth $1,200. And they were also not willing to negotiate or discount for having missed this issue and for lying about not having known about the crawl space issue to begin with.

At this point, we did not have time to seek out another quote/company to complete the work without risking our scheduled closing date.

They did nothing to make the situation right and did not even so much as apologize for putting the entire sale of our home at risk.

Would never recommend this...

Brian and his crew were able to take care of us in a quick timeframe which is always key when HVAC units go bad. Brian answered any questions I had and gave me options that would fit our house and budget. He gave me his opinion and knowledge on multiple types of units but wasn't pushy and didn't try to sell us something that would have been overkill. Their pricing is in line with everyone else and have the best value on parts and labor warranties. His technicians came out and checked everything beforehand to make sure we had everything we needed and that all the ductwork and wiring were in good shape. They had the old unit out and new one in within a few hours and were professional...

I wish I had the name of the 2 technicians that came out today so that I could mention them both within my review! However, they were very professional, personable and reassuring and matter of fact. Even down to the dispatcher that I spoke to (Jennifer). My husband and I were referred to this company by a Relator who clients gave high praises. & those praises are now even higher as they just gained 2 new customers today! & I will totally refer them to all of my home health clients. I love top tier customer service & I got that today!!!! Thank you...
