I want to start out with 2 recommendations: the tasting and the actual wedding cake. The tasting was superb: 5 large cupcake size cakes, each a different flavor and each a different filling/frosting. Now I understand most people look at cake and think "Oh its cake" and I was among them. However, not this cake. One of the flavors was a Bourbon Carmel Cream and we had it on chocolate: decadent. The Almond cake with cookies and cream filling: stunning! My husband and I took the leftovers and shared with two friends: they loved the lemon. They were shocked by the lightness and fresh lemony flavor, they said it was well balanced. Highly recommend at least doing a tasting if you aren't sure. Now my husband won $500 off our cake from a Wedding Expo. Once again I was still on the fence, because I am the one managing the budget. We saw in their shop an example of a stained glass floral cake design. We both had our mind turning on ideas after tasting the cakes. We were in love with the Chocolate with Bourbon Carmel cream, so were were totally getting that one! We had to pick 2 other flavor combinations because we needed 150 peoples' worth of cake. We selected the almond cake with cookies and cream filling as a bottom tier(12 in) and Red velvet with cream cheese as the middle tier(10in). The chocolate with bourbon caramel the upper two tiers(8in and 6in). We also opted to get the top tier prepaid for our 1 year (2025) anniversary in the contract. So we don't even have to save the cake in our already full freezer. Delivery was wonderful, no issues: Peachtree City, GA. They set up the cake with all our toppers in the setup we had preset. Our venue cut smaller slices than expected so everyone ended up with 2 flavors. Well worth it. The artistic talent that went into the stained glass with our orchid flower and colors, was magnificent! My husband I have already decided to return annually to get some cake, since where else do you get chocolate with bourbon caramel cream or almond with...
Read moreMy rating is not so much on their work, but they’re horrible customer service. They are rude, and not welcoming at all. The girl that works the front desk is unenthusiastic, does not seem to want to work there, and she could not be bothered to even greet me with a smile. The name of the bakery, does not represent the way you’re treated. Their lives seemed rather bitter and miserable. I’d rather do business with an average cake bakery that’s welcoming, friendly and happy to make a cake. Rather than walk in to this seemingly upscale bakery, and be assisted by miserable, bitter and unhappy women who have ZERO joy in their lives. When my boss initially placed the order, she was also treated poorly. The front desk girl lacked every human emotion that’s necessary, to having a successful business as customer interaction is essential. She acted like my boss was interrupting and bothering her, when she requested to speak with the cake maker Amanda (who was also NOT friendly at all in person). And when I personally went to pick up the cake for my boss, I was greeted in the same manner. The front desk girl could not find the cake, she acted like my boss’s name was weird and she had no idea what I was even talking about. Instead of attempting to be be friendly, kind and pleasant while trying to figure out the status of the order, she was miserable, unhappy and JOYLESS!!!! It’s a Sweet Life is not sweet at all, once you encounter their employees. I hope they invest in some customer service training, as well as some much needed counseling for their miserably and unhappy staff. I hope these miserable women can find joy in their lives, and maybe their life will begging to truly be sweet. Maybe one day, that will translate into...
Read moreAmanda sold us at our consultation appointment! She was very professional and was able to meet all of our expectations. The cake was beautiful and delicious-- it was better than I could have imagined. She also made a cookie table for us too with mini whoopie pies, Italian wedding cookies, mini cookies, custom icing cookies, and cannoli. Additionally, we had smaller gluten free and vegan cakes too-- so the baker was very accommodating. It's a Sweet Life was an absolute Godsend because our original pastry chef from 2020 lost her business and was no longer able to service our wedding. The only thing that I would suggest is renting a cake stand separately or making sure your venue can provide a cake stand. It's a Sweet Life requires you to deliver their cake stand back to them within 24 hours after the wedding. You could plan to have someone from the wedding party deliver it the next day for you as well. We were about to leave on our honeymoon when we were reminded of this policy. Our venue is 45 min from where we live and the bakery is another 40 min from the venue-- it was a stressful time getting it...
