Southern Raceway — Local services in Milton

Events are fun and enjoyable, prices are $15-20, discounts for seniors, military or child, usually small kids under 5 are free. You enter on a dirt road and park in the grass. Lots of space to park Stadium bleachers for seats so bring a cushion or a bleacher chair. Closer to the fence they provide an area to set up lawn chairs and such, a pretty large area about the size of the bleachers so if you want to be closer bring your own chair and opt out of the bleachers. There’s no shaded areas so prep for the Florida sun. Never tried the food but we are allowed reentry so at intermission we go back to the car to eat. Just show your ticket upon reentry. Bathrooms are gross and water faucet is a hit or miss on working so bring your own soap/antibacterial/alcohol cause you’re gonna need it. When the cars and races are underway you can’t hear a thing the announcer says. Even difficult to hear when no racing is happening. We arrived at 6:00 after a short rain. They ran trucks and busses to dry the track so I went to get a soda and a beer- it took 20 minutes. At 7:00 they announced a delay because they couldn't get the lights to work. I went to get some fries- 25 minutes wait because they had only one concession open.. It started sprinkling at 8:00- still no lights. At 9:00 pm- still no lights and it is raining. People started leaving. At 9:15 we decided because there were still no lights and the rain had picked up a lot. I asked for a rain or light check and the response was- the event is not canceled and we were refused another opportunity to attend. We left very disappointed. This place has gone downhill quite a bit in the last couple of years and it certainly is NOT the finest dirt track in the South as they proclaim. We will...

Well we were at a campground and all the trucks came in with race cars in it so I got to talk into one of the guys and he told me there was a race the next night over and it was not too far away so of course being a race I looked for a race if two ants line up on the sidewalk we had to go to the race absolutely wonderful it started at 4:00 and wasn't over until midnight we watched the modified cars and the stock cars run around the dirt track we had such a good time the food was great and the people there were even a whole lot more fun than the people in NASCAR I would definitely...
