Having run through many boarding barns over the years, as well as having kept horses myself, I think I have developed the ability to know a good one when I see one. And Double R is definitely a good one. It doesn't matter what your interests are (showing, trail riding, lessons, just having fun, English, Western, children, adults), this barn can accommodate you, make you feel welcome, take stellar care of your horse if you are a boarder, provide the perfect horse for your needs if you are not, and in general make your equine experience as down to earth and enjoyable as possible, all without breaking the bank. Rhonda is wonderful, her new trainers are excellent kind people, and the whole package is everything you could want. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a place to board or take lessons. WARNING! I recently reached out to this boarding facility to inquire about boarding my horse. At every place I have ever boarded my horses they allow Ring or another outdoor surveillance cameras in my horses stall so I can monitor his wellbeing and care when I travel. Double R refused strongly refused a service that is a norm in most other facilities. This is a HUGE red flag.

As a lifetime horse owner that has lived in many different locations, the use of technology to ensure the safety of your animal is allowed without question. Even doggie daycares use this!!! I encourage any good horse owner to AVOID facilities that don’t want you to watch what they are doing. From experience, many boarding facility abuse animals and do not do what is required if you aren’t watching. I recently moved 5 horses to Double R Stables. The owner Rhonda Porter personally picked up my horses from their previous barn and helped me with every detail. 4 of my friends from the previous barn have also moved their horses to Double R. Our horses are so happy with this clean barn and 12 by 20 stalls with an open view of the beautifully kept pastures. The trails are lovely, maintained, safe, wide and perfect for gaiting.
