REPORT FOR A STAY AT THE CLIFFS RESORT SEPT. 21,22,23 OF 2016. The property is very large and very pretty located The golf courses are beautiful. The PK lake is beautiful, but our room advertised as a lake view has a partially obstructed view by shrubs and trees. The restaurant was very nice but had only one other couple eating at this early dining time. The swimming pool is beautiful but one has to use a vehicle to get to it. We had an incident that I have never seen before in travelling. When the room keys for two different rooms would not work one night we went to the desk and the attendant stated that they had expired. For the other room one had been demagnetized and since both keys were made at the same time then the other became demagnetized also. We were not due to check out until the next day. It has been a long time since I have had a key get demagnetized, but it does happen. I would think both keys would have to be next to the demagnetizer to have both become demagnetized. The hair dryer in the bathroom would only run for about one minute and then cut off. We just put up with it instead of complaining. When we made the reservation through central reservations we were told that we would have two rooms in the same building with one being the elite with the good view (turned out to be partially obstructed). The other room was not a lake view. When we arrived at the property the original quote for the two rooms changed and the second room became more expensive. This does not do much for honesty. My Mother in Law said the Hampton Inn in Decatur, TX was nicer and she preferred the room to this one. We visited the Morris Sheppard Dam and did visiting around the area of Graham, TX for my MIL to see...
Read moreThe restaurant was horrible. The seafood buffet was over cooked, disgusting and cold. We kept trying new items to see if we might find something edible and hot and as we did we would take one bite of each thing and then push the plate away. No one ever took dishes away so we stacked them on our table, really high and still they weren't removed. The waitress kept refilling our water, but that was it. Everything was so bad that we just laughed and laughed. I would suggest closing the restaurant before it ruins your resort. It will take a complete house cleaning from the chef on down and then starting over to have a chance. There is obviously no training, no quality control and no one that can cook there.
The view from our room was amazing and the room itself was okay in a decent motel type of way, but fell well below resort status. At $200 a night, one would expect more. The view made it acceptable though for one visit, but we would...
Read moreI highly recommend this course! Here are the challenges! I'm a 1.2 handicap and I shot a 47 on the front nine & a 39 on the back nine. Almost every tee shot on a par 4 or 5 is to a blind fairway shot. You have to know the lines off the tee to play well. I lost 3 balls on the front nine because I didn't know the line off the tee. Once in the fairway you are fine but getting in the correct place from the tee is difficult. On the back nine we had someone join us who plays their regularly and with direction off the tee I was able to play way better. I missed 3 birdie putts on the back nine so I had the opportunity to score lower but it didn't happen. Also the carts are awesome!! They are super cushioned & have GPS navigation & yardage provided on display! The cart girls are awesome also they met us at our vehicle as soon as we pulled up with a cart!
I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS COURSE & WAY TO GO MAINTENANCE TEAM IT WAS IN...
