The staff at this resort should get a five star. Brandon the dock boy, Brad and Elaine are great. We were camping in a full hook up site up by the fish house. The site was a nice shady spot, however backing into the site up a hill and around some trees was a daunting experience. Also they appear to store old building supplies, dead snow mobile, etc all along the tree line. They have a small beach with some swim floating pads that were fun. The dock area is great but has a lot of chairs and tables crammed in a small area. The resort is in a beautiful bay and it was great sitting on the dock in the evening watching the loons, pelicans, and ducks. The walk from our campsite to the beach was a bit treacherous without a defined walkway. Many rocks, ledges, and tree roots. Our campsite also had much of the same. There are 5 sites in the lower section but a not 'defined' clearly as to where is each site. Some campers were very close to each other. One magical RV site is right on the lake by itself. We enjoyed our stay. We did occasionally have a hard time finding staff to answer questions. There is no store onsite at all. I also had a tough time reaching someone on the phone prior to our arrival. They do not take credit cards. A small family run resort. We stayed a week. The Arrowwood resort is within walking distance and has a bar and restaurant. The Wooden frog campground is also very close. Nice quite area. We personally didn't fish but many people were catching nice walleye and perch. We have Verizon and had consistent 2 or 3 bars the whole week. I don't think there is any...
Read moreWe were promised full dock service when we booked our week at this resort. We did NOT have full dock service and were asked to pump our own gas. We cleaned our own fish in the cleaning house and were reprimanded for using "too much water". On our next attempt to clean our fish we were told that we didn't use "enough water". The owner then threatened to padlock the cleaning house for the remainder of our stay. We were told a set price and received a bill for nearly $300 more. The cabin was cluttered, unkept, and miserably hot. The electrical inside is without question a fire hazzard. A large baggie of unknown pills were found in the couch cushion. Light bulbs were missing from various fixtures. Shower was small and various signage demanded that "showers be short". The "office" is not open. There is no bait or ice for sale, as also promised. Wifi and television are non-existant. The views of the bay are beautiful. The resort has a ton of potential but it's time for the 80+ year old owner to retire! We will not be returning! Save yourself the headache and go...
Read moreLoved this resort. Perfect for my toddler who loved the beach, playing in the calm, quiet water, going for walks on the quiet road, and the wildlife. Deer, pelicans, loons, ducks, and foxes. We camped in an RV and had the most beautiful, level, partially shaded spot near the shore. Full hookups! Pet friendly. Paddleboat, kayaks, and canoes free to borrow. Elaine, who has owned the place for 40+ years, and Randy are the most helpful, honest people. They were always on hand to assist, even late at night. Did not see inside the cabins, but they looked charming. The other visitors have been coming here for decades, so this is a real gem! Bring your own motor boat or rent one...
