We came to visit my brother and family, and sadly I was almost not able to return home to Texas! Sitting outside on the patio, taking some family memories and photos with our elderly and disabled mother, we suddenly had a bang on the wall outside the kitchen door that broke the glass of the outside light and it bounced right at my feet, thank you God, the golf ball didn't hit my head! My poor mother screamed and asked if I was okay ... this ended our family photos with a terrifying moment, no doubt. The Olde Sycamore must be considerate and aware of this situation and worry more about the owners and children, who are in great danger when going out to their yard to play. Why have a beautiful house and pay so much money for association fees and not be able to enjoy the backyard, not even the porch? Leaving your own home to the backyard is like entering a war zone with sniper balls unknowingly shooting to kill, and where your life is on the firing line! Hazard for sure here!

Played April 6th. Midmorning 9:35am. Staff was friendly and the starter kept everyone on time. Pace of play was good ended up being right over 4.5 hrs. Course conditions: Overall in pretty good shape. Green were soft fairway grass was waking up. Tee boxes have just been recently aerated. Looks like they did alot of off season renovations throughout the course. Value: Paid 55 cart and all, seems pretty fair. Food: Hot dog was solid, beer prices were decent. 3 Lites, 1 draft beer, and a hot dogwith chips 22$ Overall: Place is solid, hope hope they can keep it in good shape as the season starts. 8.8/10

Just moved to Charlotte and this was the first course I played. Played yesterday. The course was in great shape and very fun to play. I used to work at Wolf Creek back in Mesquite, NV and we not only made sure the course was in tip top shape but we also made sure the golfer had a great experience from the moment they pulled up. Olde Sycamore could use a lot of help with the latter. I wasn't really sure where to go when I got there and I had to seek out the staff to find out. Maybe the standards are just a little lower out here as far as the service part goes but I enjoyed the course a lot.

Its unfortunate that I have to leave this review because I've always found Old Sycamore to be a nice course. Well, the value seems nicer to me when you catch a deal on Golfnow or any other discounted site.

So last week we had a foursome booked for 12:48pm. Around 12:36p the starter asked us to go in front of the 12:34p group which happened to be the tee time for the owner of the golf course.

He was was busy talkng to landscapers who were digging a trench on the driving range, while his other group members stood by near him waiting for him to stop chatting. We proceeded to the tee box to tee off as instructed by the starter. All of a sudden the owner and his group of "5 PEOPLE" drove around our carts while we were on the tee box, stopped at the tee box for seniors, with "5 PEOPLE", and they tee'd off as if we didn't exist! This is called PRIVILEDGE at its finest!

So you are over 10 minutes late for your tee times and see another group about to tee off and don't even give them common respect to say anything to them. Especially when you have "5 PEOPLE" and with daylight saving time changing it's gettin darker sooner! I thought it was against their policy to let a group of "5 PEOPLE" book a tee time anyway?

He didn't value nor respect paying customers that day who help keep that place running! That's was a very bad customer experience!!! He should really avoid this type of privilege in the future and respect...

Really great course, very enjoyable for all skill levels, fairways and greens were in great condition. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Only reason this isn’t getting 5 stars is because on the second hole, my friend and I had to wait on our approach shots because the residents of the closest house were taking pictures together on the green. When we got to the green, those same residents proceeded to yell at my friend and I as we tried to putt, using extremely vulgar and threatening language. I have never experienced this before on any golf course, let alone one as nice as this, and quite frankly I was shocked that anybody could be so poorly mannered towards two strangers who were just trying to enjoy a game. I called the pro shop and alerted them of this issue. They said they would check it out, although I did not receive a follow up, so I’m not sure what happened. I do not know how much control the course administrators have over this kind of issue, but I would hope that they at least asked the residents to remain within their yard, i.e. not be standing on the green as players are trying to hit their approach, and to be respectful of the golfers who are just trying to enjoy a nice round. This experience definitely added a negative note to our round, however I loved everything else about this course and I will most definitely...

We live in Olde Sycamore and my 11 yr old son has started showing interest in trying Golf. So we go up to the clubhouse and the Pro Shop to get some info. Well that was like pulling teeth. We walked up and the employee was on the phone, we waited a minute or 2 and he hung up and went straight back to the computer. So I "interrupted" him by saying that we lived in the neighborhood and my son who was with me was interested trying out the course. I then asked how much to play, was told, without him looking up, depends on the day. That was it, no further inquiry as to when we thought we'd like to play or anything. So I "interrupt" him again and ask him if he can tell me the rates for which days. He then untapes something off the desk he was sitting at and hand me the price list and goes back to the computer. I then ask if they rent clubs, he says yes (still looking at the computer). I then ask how much it cost to rent clubs, his answer was we don't have junior club rentals. Then goes back to the computer. He definitely doesn't need to be in any customer service position as either he has asperges or just is apathetic about his job. Think I might find a more pleasant and inviting place to...
