P & L Seafood — Local services in Mobile

I visited P & L Seafood in Mobile AL. I was told by locals that this was a good place to purchase raw fresh fish. That was my intent. However, once I entered, I smelled food being prepared on the spot for take-out. Ya'll know I had to try it. One of my favorite things about seafood in Mobile It's soooo much cheaper . I ordered a seafood boil platter that came with a snow crab claw, 1 lb of shrimp, smoked sausage, potatoes, and corn, plus your choice of butter or flavored butter for $18. You definitely get a lot of food for very reasonable prices. I also tried the pick two fried seafood dinner. I chose fried Tilapia and fried shrimp. It was even more flavorful than the boil. All served hot, fresh, which I'm a stickler about, so I was happy. The batter on the fried fish was so crispy and well seasoned. This is a small, in and out little place. I'd give it 3 and a half stars if I could. Customer service is OK. they just need to be careful about eating snacks then touching food right in front of Customers as I witnessed once. Also, they could stand to steam the food a little longer sometimes. And they might want to hire a few more people to work when it gets really busy, because it takes a while sometimes to get food when it is. Nonetheless, the food is good and service is still OK. I'll be back.

PS. The Dejavoo Credit card terminal they use charges 4% more on your food, so the final price goes up fast. Its a penny pinching...

If had 💯 stars 🌟 that's what I'd give!! We went there at closing time on Christmas Eve to buy some white shrimp to have Christmas day. The shrimp were beautiful and if they taste anything like the fresh oysters the owner fried up for us to eat on our 45 mile trip back home then we will be going back every week!!
