Piggly Wiggly — Local services in Mobile

The reason I'm writing this review because as a nurse, I take customer service seriously and I spend alot of cash at this store. Today I spent $154 at this store. Mind you, this grocery store is way more expensive than others but I go there because it's on the way home from my job and near where I live. Its also very nice inside. The workers are friendly. Welp, I had to return a pack of Hormel Pepperoni that was beyond mildewed. My husband pointed it out when I got home. So although I'm tired from work, I jumped in my car to return it. Now, Piggly Wiggly has a weekly ad where you can get a free item of the week, with a $10 purchase. I forgot about it when I checked out so I asked the manager, may I go ahead and get the item, which is a bag of 5lb sugar this week. That's the least she could do for my inconvenience. She said "no," I would have to make another purchase basically or if I had my groceries with me. I showed my receipt and pointed out the young lady that checked me out, literally 20 minutes before. The reason I asked was because another manager over the weekend graciously gave me a case of water, just being nice after I downloaded the app. She didn't make me go back through the line. I just love the name! 😜 In all seriousness, I was impressed with this smaller market. Normally, smaller markets I've been to, except a few I won't mention cut costs, corners, etc. This store seemed to have taken the advice of a previous review about cleanliness, and I'm happy they did. We arrived on a Sunday afternoon, the place was absolutely clean and smelled of yummy cooked Southern food. We were greeted from the time we entered "welcome" with a smile... to a "Thank you" upon exiting. The restrooms were clean, and shelves were kept with the inventory. Definitely, great prices, oh, and a few ladies at the Deli were exceptional. Wish I caught their names, and don't remember seeing a name tag. The lady who sliced our deli meats was a doll, and the other I made her laugh about my husband's sandals 😉 (she was already in good spirits and had asked if I needed anything). My first trip to Piggly Wiggly in years. WD and WM have always been closer to home. But after my visit today I will be shopping here more often. This goes out to the employees. Whoever has been cleaning this store and stocking these shelves hold your head high. I had actually lost faith in peoples work ethics. I was brought up to believe what ever you do in this life you do it to the best of your ability. You take pride in the work you do. In essence, you do every job as if your signing your name to it. This store is so neat, well kept and organized it was literally a great experience shopping here. The workers were friendly and helpful. I dont find myself too often anymore talking good about going to the grocery store but I truly enjoyed the whole experience and I know this isnt possible to achieve without employees that take pride in what they do.
