If you are going for the bakery items, call ahead! Google says they close at 7, but we found out the bakery closes at 5 most days! So be aware of that ahead of time!
This place is worth a few visits on the fall. The apples are delicious and they are now offering U pick for certain apples. Otherwise they have bins you can get your own apples out of.
The bakery has a large variety of delicious treats! From apple cake, to Carmel apple cookies, cider donuts, apple pie, cut up caramel apples, fresh apple crisp topper with ice cream and of course apple cider. You can't help but smile as you wait for your goods and smell the smells! This places gets very busy at peak times, and you can call in orders ahead of time to make it easier on everyone!
Twisted Roots is fairly new. You can get real hard cider and wood fire pizza! They now have a larger seating area for drinking and dinning!
There is also an area for kids to play, which includes some dated wood toys, a stack of tires, a corn maze, and a small area with a few animals. It's not what I would call a petting zoo, as there are signs all over talking about how fingers look like french fries. The animal area was smelly (to be expected) and dirty. I feel like it's time they get ride of that section and put on a few more fun play things for the kids.
All in all, it's worth a visit, no matter what your age is. Take your kids, or your friends and go spend...

BEST PARKING is in the field marked with a red "parking" sign just before you get to Knaebe's on the right. Their parking lot on the grounds was packed when we got there and when we left.
This place is family friendly ❣ playground, horse shoes, Corn hole, petting zoo, sunflower field, corn maze. You can walk the orchard. What a variety of apples!
There are port-a-potties by the playground and just past the outside picnic tables down aways.
We tried their Little Piggy pizza which was good. We also got a hard cider sampler with Happy Apple, Tangled up in Blue, Crantastic, and Hop Hoppy. The best tasting was Crantastic, then Tangled in Blue. Happy Apple was okay and I would not choose Hip Hoppy again. We went on a Saturday and it was Labor Day weekend. BUSY!
We stopped in the bakery. The line was long but went pretty fast with 3 cashiers working. I got a donut sundae. I chose a cinnamon donut. They put vanilla ice cream on top of it, whip cream and drizzled carmel over everything. SO GOOD❣ My husband got a pecan pumpkin muffin and said it tasted great. We got a donut Power Pack and 1/2 gallon of cider to take home. Yes, their cider is GOOD❣🥰
We enjoyed ourselves and I recommend this place, so add it to your...
Read moreWe received a recommendation to stop here from locals. You drive down a long dirt road and into the woods. About a mile in you see the cars. Lots of them. Its a random apple orchard in the middle of nowhere that apparently lots of people know about.
Main building is old farm style....because it is. Doughnuts are best on site as they are made fresh and usually warm. All the doughnuts we had were great. Cider is not nearly as sweet and that's a good thing. Great stuff. They make their own cookies. I should have tried one. I highly recommend the caramel doughnut with ice cream on top.
Walk outside to the next building and there just happens to be a hard cider distillery. So, we sent the kids down to the kids area and got a flight or two. Most of them were pretty good. No chemical syrup taste like most. I actually wouldn't mind drinking this stuff as an alternative. Kids area was nice and had enough stuff to do to keep them busy while we actually relaxed and drank.
Apparently there was no apple picking due to weather earlier in the year?
We did buy apples though and they were great. Not sure we would have a reason to go back there again, but if we were in the area we...
