This place used to be our go-to, even though I had been incorrectly charged by over $200 there before. Years ago, this was a place to count on for well-priced, slightly expired food. Then, even before the pandemic, prices on most things had tripled. Now, just forget it; the prices at Aldi and Walmart are better. Instead of slightly expired food, their shelves are crammed with items over a year old because they refuse to come down to a reasonable price to at least clear out old inventory. Keeping super old food around causes pantry moth infestation, and I have seen pantry moths in the store on multiple occasions. To be truthful, getting food pantry items would be better than going there at this point. A majority of the products are so old now that I wouldn’t even take them for free. I refuse to pay the prices they are now asking for dented cans and three-year-old dry goods. It really is quite sad when looking back and remembering how things were before. I understand raising prices to some degree during this time, but a lot of the price increases are extreme. For example, a container of sweetener granules for tea spiking from $0.99 to $5.99. My advice would be to at least temporarily lower the prices to get rid of a lot of their old junk. It’s too packed in there with dirty, old packages. Also, clean the store. Too grimy. This place has turned...
Read moreI'm not a terribly picky person but some items have me sketched out. (Think mayo and meats) Otherwise there are other items that are perfectly viable and safe to eat. I'm weary of buying things that might have questionable food safety rather than things that might lack quality. Stale crackers is one thing but tainted meat is another. (Not saying that there is any thing like that going on here, just stating that I am personally weary of that.) They do have a guarantee that anything they sell is wholesome and good to eat so there is that if you purchase something and it winds up being no good. Some of the staff can be snarky. I actually had one of the ladies rip a box out of my hands and yell at me "I can't let you have that!" when I was trying to help box/bag my items. Don't know if she was having an off day or what but that's not the way to treat customers. I still shop...
Read moreExcellent, This is a great store, lower cost groceries, some things are out of date but still good, raised my family off the food they offer here, if your low income, these are your people! I have went here for many years, probably close to twenty years! Knew the original owner personally, he would always come out and talk with me, and genuinely glad to see me! I cannot say enough about these great people here, thank you all for helping feed my family, when times were so hard for us, my children still shop at my favorite discount store to this day! They accept food stamps, debit and credit cards! Very family oriented, at the time of this review! If you ever have a problem they go out of there way to help you to remedy the situation! If things are hard for you now, this IS the place to shop! THESE ARE...
