Get off the beaten path and go to this place! While visiting the area a local friend recommended this specific orchard. There are a lot of orchards in the area but this one was quaint. The apples were absolutely delicious and the orchards beautiful. The little store had all kinds of fun, local gifts and foods. I ordered the dreamy, which was the apple cider doughnut, hot out of the fryer topped with maple ice cream, cooked apples with cinnamon and caramel sauce. Quite possibly the best dessert I’ve ever had in my life. And this is coming from a chocolate girl who doesn’t even normally like this kind of stuff. Seriously, so delicious. And everyone who worked there was so friendly! They had Porta potty‘s in case you needed the loo and a funky little outdoor sink with soap and water which was nice. They had lots of apples in bins that you could bag up yourself if you didn’t feel like picking them off the tree. There were five or six varieties when I was there and the prices were very good. I took a pack home in my suitcase and all of my clothes smelled gloriously like apples when I got home! What a magical...

Yates Family Orchard is an absolute treasure! From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with warm smiles and a truly family-friendly atmosphere. The orchard itself is beautiful, with stunning views of the Vermont countryside, and the variety of apples available is fantastic. Whether you’re looking to pick your own or buy some fresh produce from the farm stand, you won’t be disappointed.

Their apples are delicious and fresh, and the selection of homemade treats is just icing on the cake. The apple cider and soft serve are must-tries, and the apple cider donuts are some of the best I’ve ever had. You can really tell the care and passion the Yates family puts into their farm.

If you’re in Vermont and looking for a charming, authentic orchard experience, Yates Family Orchard is a perfect choice. Highly recommend for families, couples, or anyone who enjoys fresh, local produce and a beautiful day out!

Wonderful experience! We drove up from the Washington DC area to experience some of New England in the fall. After driving up route 100 from Wilmington, we made our way over to Yates. After looking at all the orchard options online, I decided I had to have the apple cider donut Dreamee. I was partial to the one with maple ice cream, and my wife was partial to the one with apple cider ice cream. Both were delicious and worth the drive on their own. The staff were extremely friendly and answered my stupid questions about all things apple. The great thing is that all the cider donuts are made to order. I have had an apple cider doughnut before
or at least I thought I had. Nothing like these. Also, they have a great deck with amazing views. All in all a fantastic experience, well worth the drive, and wheneever we get to make it up to Vermont again we will...

The view! From the picnic area views across the Champlain Valley to the Adirondacks. The barn, shop, hand painted signs, solar panels, self serve and cashiers tent along with the comfortably sized orchard all score a 10 for charm. The vibe! On a cool sunny day in September locals flock here with toddlers and grandparents in tow. The sound of laughter fills the orchard. The service! Friendly folks advise on the best apples for whatever you’re planning. Red wagons are available for kids or bushels of pick your own apples. The eats! Apple cider creemee on a crusty cider donut, or go for the Supreemee: a sundae of maple creemee topped with apple pie filling and cider caramel all on that cider donut. The economy! Shop local and support our working landscape.
