Dollar General — Local services in Monroe

Ever since the "remodeling" took place a few months ago my family has seen nothing but down grades in this Dollar General's system and their company. You should always be prepared to stay a while when shopping here due to many reasons. For starters, there are multiple loading carts and boxes of junk all over the store that are constantly in the way of shoppers. These carts are not here just occasionally, they sit in the way for weeks at a time. They also upgraded their registers at the check out and I have yet to witness both registers opened at the same time, even when the check out line is fairly long. But don't worry, your long await doesn't end there! The workers also feel the need to just "hangout" around the store rather than watching the registers or unloading the carts in the way. I, and many others, have been left standing in line with nobody at the register but can hear the workers chit-chatting for a ridiculous amount of time on many occasions. It gets better! Now that you have taken on this long, frustrating quest at Dollar General you now get to experience the bitter vibes from the workers as you are leaving. No "thank you for shopping with us" or "sorry about the wait" or "have a nice day" all they say is "debit or credit?" I would highly recommend driving just a little further up the street to Wal-mart. Your shopping experience will be much more enjoyable! I am very disapointed in this Dollar General after their remodeling and would not recommend the annoyance of a trip...

This location is around a minute from me. So, it would practically be the “Store” for me and my family to buy our goods from. Not so much. This store continues to disappoint us. From not being stocked to not allowing us to enter the store and hour prior to closing. Apparently they create hours of operation constantly at a moment’s notice. This has happened quite a few times. Last night was the last time. While clearly stating on the website and next to the door the store closes at 10:00 pm (We were there at 9:00 pm) the employee would not let us in, this was due to being closed. I pointed out the sign of hours of operation and was ignored. Last night was “THE LAST” time I even consider this store! I have had it! I truly hope they close this store down as it is to no good for families to utilize for medical needs and or general purchase. I am not alone regarding these issues within the community. If I end up walking in there, please understand this pisspoor establishment was the absolute last option. Also, I do not forget faces and I will give the same respect you give me and the rest of the community. Update your website, take your hours of operation down when not accurate. This store is ridiculous. I will drive a half an hour out of my way to avoid this horrible poorly managed sorry excuse of a community “ NOT SO GENERAL”...

There's always a long line and almost always only 1 cashier and the wait is always extremely long. It isn't the fault of the cashier, it is the fault of whoever manages the place, because I always see other employees around not doing much and whenever there is a line like there is every time I go in, which is often, I wait in line anywhere from 10-20 minutes and I can tell I'm not the only one in line frustrated by this. The management needs to train more people to work the register for situations like that when there's long lines and only 1 obviously stressed out and overworked cashier. Other than that I have no issues with the store other than the name. It should be called, generally several dollars or more, because most items are well over a dollar and I don't think I've ever seen anything for a...
