My wife and I decided to "buy local", hoping for good customer service. We purchased a Hearthstone Manchester stove from this store and scheduled to have it "professionally" installed. My wife called a few times to inquire about a rough install date, after we left our deposit and never got a call back. I received a call from the installers a few weeks later and did schedule a time with them. They also applied for the building/fire permit through the town. The day of the install arrived and they removed our old stove and figured out they brought the wrong stove to be installed. A quick trip back to the shop and they had the right one. They installed it and left. That was a full 5hrs of my day, lost to screwing around with the stove install. Later that day, my wife comes home from work and is looking at the stove and can't open the ash door. The installers crushed the fresh air control handle, blocking access to the ash door. I carefully bent the handle up enough to open the ash door. I then partially took apart the stove to remove the handle and straighten it properly. We had the inspector coming the following day and I wanted the inspector to be able to open the doors and look at the install. After it passed the inspection, my wife attempted to make a fire in our new stove, it wouldn't stay lit unless one of the doors was open. We were concerned something was damaged when the air inlet control was bent. My wife called Gardens to Grow LLC and was told the new handle would be in next week and he would look at the stove then. So we have 5k worth of wood stove in our living room that we can't use. I decide to further investigate the problem and light a small test fire, same outcome. While reading the owners manual, I discover the section regarding piping in fresh air from outside, there is a kit you can buy to set that up. I start looking on the stove for the fresh air inlet and there is packing/duck tape over the inlet. So we paid 700 dollars for a professional install and we get a damaged stove and it is not ready to burn. My wife goes into Gardens to Grow LLC today and he tells her it isn't the installers responsibility to make the stove burn ready. Why did I pay to have the stove professionally installed???? He says come back in the spring and I'll give you some flowers. Well, this is one case where the customer service is severely lacking and I would say do not buy a stove from this retailer if you want it to be installed without damage and in ready to...
