Campground reviewâŚYouâll have a mile and a half dirt and rock road to enter on into the campground. Thereâs no check in you just go straight to your reserved site. We went on a weekend, Friday, Saturday night in July. Stayed in Peewee South cg which is also total dirt road. No Tmobile cell service. Pretty much anything goes here except they donât want you parking your car on the grass . You can pitch a tent, lay a rug down or put anything else on the grass but not a vehicle. 50A electric only. Potable water avail and dump is $5. Big fairly level sites. Our take was this cg was like being in the Wild West. 15 ppl per site, big dogs đ off leash, 5 & 6 yoâs driving big motorized 4 wheelers, side by sides etc. Farmer tans and cowboy hats. Our neighbors smokin the wacky tabacky. Mom, Dad, kids and spouses. A family affair. đ¨ đŹ This is a fishing and big boating lake and cg. Lots of trees & sticks sticking out of the water. Several coves to paddle board or kayak on. Quite popular with the locals. We...
Read moreA wonderful place to go. Spent five days there and had a great time. They have places to camp with electric and without. We stayed at rattlesnake camp ground. No electric but had public restroom and fire ring. Only a few sites there so it was quit. Loved it and recommended it. The lady who owns the marine was very delightful. You got to try their Indian tacos on Saturdays and burgers any other day. A little pricey, but we'll worth it. UPDATE....Just got back from out third year family reunion at tongue river. Another great week. I want to add a "ata boy" to the folks at the Tongue River Parks office. We had a camper snap an axle while there. We went to Sheridan and spent half a day trying to find a new one, or someone to weld this one. In desperation we went to the Parks office and they gladly let us use their shop, wielder and tools to fix our axle and get it back on the road. Thank you guys for making a bad situation much better. Just for the record, my weld held and we got it the 200...
Read moreGreat place to camp and fish. If you camp at Sandy Point you can be closer to the beach but during high water levels some camp sites in all campgrounds could be closed or soggy. The marina and store have all of the basics you need for those things you have forgotten plus beer, fishing accessories, bait, gas and licenses. There is also a nice little restaurant when you just don't feel like cooking. I would rate it five stars except there were several vault toilets that were padlocked shut and that made it very inconvenient for many sites and all campgrounds were nearly full to capacity. Also they restock and clean them only once per day in the morning so supplies tend to run out in the afternoon on busy days. Bring your own toilet paper! Camping fees seem quite high for nonresidents. I paid $28 per night for a primitive site. It is $34 for a site with electricity. Lastly shade trees are non-existent except in very few spots. You can reserve sites...
