Today, six friends and I spent the afternoon at the Kharis Lavender Farm in Gaithersburg. We absolutely loved the experience and we all felt that this was a very relaxing way to spend the afternoon.
First of all, I have to extend my thanks to Claudia who owns the farm. She was a wonderful host. She welcomed us into the "barn" which is a beautiful indoor setting that overlooks the farm on one side and the woods on the other. We felt like we were at a spa! As soon as we entered, we were struck not only by the beauty of the setting, but the light aroma of lavender and the sounds of relaxing music.
Claudia showed us around and took us into the shop which sells a variety of wonderful lavender-inspired products from creams, lotions, bug spray, inhalers for headaches and sinus issues, candles, tea, coasters, balsamic vinegar, etc.
After an informed tour by Claudia, she invited us to sit down and enjoy our lunches (we brought our lunches, but she is able to cater). She treated us to delicious lavender tea, lavender cookies, and cold beverages.
After lunch, we went out to the lavender fields and Claudia explained how to cut bunches of lavender. Then, we went back into the store to pick up the rest of our purchases. (Everything was reasonably priced, btw).
We learned that Kharis Lavender Farm offers candle making, yoga, and other classes. I also think the setting would be perfect for a birthday lunch or a gathering of around 20 people for a meal in a very special and relaxing setting. My group agreed that we will most certainly be back! Thank...
Read moreWe worked with Claudia on several lavender items for our wedding, and she is an absolute delight to work with! We started out seeking dried lavender flowers for the wedding toss at the end of our ceremony (instead of rice, bubbles, or rose petals), and Claudia went above and beyond working with us to create dream lavender toss cones with a gorgeous aesthetic!
Our photographers loved them, and Claudia even sought out adorable countryside baskets and beautiful, thick cream paper with a lace-patterned cut-out for the paper cones.
We loved working with her so much, after a trip to her fields, we decided to get lavender sachet favors (our guests loved them!), some lavender centerpieces for the rehearsal dinner, and even lavender hair pins for the bridesmaids.
Since Claudia is fluent in Spanish, she was able to work wonderfully with all the members of my family, and she took care of every little detail to perfection. Especially for an event as stressful as a wedding, we are so thankful to have worked with a godsend in Claudia and her soothing, stunning lavender fields...

Claudia was wonderful to work with. She immediately understood the vision we had for the event and brought it to life beautifully. She and her team created a stunning balloon arch for us, and it exceeded our expectations. In addition, her staff was available and attentive throughout the entire event, helping everything run smoothly and stress-free.
The venue itself is ideal for bridal showers, baby showers, or any intimate event. The space was not only beautiful but also smelled incredible—soft notes of lavender filled the air and enhanced the entire experience.
I highly recommend Kharis Lavender Fields to anyone looking for a gorgeous and welcoming venue. I spent a lot of time planning this event, and this venue made it even more special. I will definitely be booking this venue again...
