Fresh Value Montgomery — Local services in Montgomery

This location in Montgomery is supposed to close at 8:00 pm. Their also supposed to be under new management new store name is Fresh Value. Anyhow I left work rushing through traffic to get to the store to pick up just 2 items for my family meal for tonight. I pull on the lot at 7:44pm the security guard person was closing the doors letting a customer out. I proceeded to the door he was motioning me, ‘We’re closed. I informed him of the time and let him knew the store hours pleading with him to please allow me inside to pick up 2 items he said they the had to shut down at this time so that they the employees could leave at 8pm. I told him that was against store policy I’m sure and that their corporate office was not aware of them making their own rules to closing. I told him there’s no way their expected to be done at 8pm with closing 8:30 at the least. Probably could’ve locked the doors at 8pm let out all remaining customers left 1 cash register open as they pre-close the store. He told me to do what I have to do. My first visit to this business was approximately 2 weeks ago. Because of the courtesy by an employee assisting me and the cleanliness I decided to return this past Thursday. Well, today I cut the watermelon purchased Thursday only to find it is no good. Telephoned store to report it and told RECEIPT needed for the rotten watermelon. Wow, what a bummer as the receipt us in garbage. The only thing I purchased was the watermelon and it was the only thing I went to purchase on my second visit.

I informed the staff person I spoke with today that no money is being sought as I only want a good watermelon. I am sure if they view tape of store action Thursday they will find me at counter paying for item purchased. They will also see security officer and another employee talking with me as assistance was needing putting the watermelon into my shopping cart.

On July 21, 2018, at exactly 8:47 pm, the person in charge announced that the store is closed, and for all customers to bring their selections to the register. At about 8:54 pm, she announced it again at a much aggressive tone. But this time, she also told her cashiers that their final customers were at their registers. The person in charge name was Alicia, and she surely needs to be fired !! This store is located in Montgomery Alabama on the East South Blvd. Now, I have about 12 years retail experience, and that includes management, and I have never seen this before in my life. She doesn't care about customer service or satisfaction. This store is a blessing to this neighborhood, and it's gonna take someone like her to mess it up. And to make matters worse, my wife was upset because I forgot to get what she wanted due to being rushed out of the store. This is not what customer service is, and I don't think she needs to be working...
