It is now September 2024, and we have yet to miss a year celebrating with family and friends. This year was very much the same as in years past; we met in the morning, caught up with everyone, and picked some delicious and beautiful apples straight from the trees. I was a bit sad that I didn’t see any wax cubes this year—though maybe I just missed them. There’s something truly special about this tradition, and I hope it never fades.
Attaching some pictures from this year to share the joy! 2020 Our family has been visiting Anderson Orchard annually for years. Generally right around the start of fall we all gather there and caravan the orchard in our various vehicles, finding the hidden gems and secret spots for the perfect apples. My fiance loves the elephant ears at the main area and the pumpkin roll is getting to be a seasonal favorite when we do visit.
This year I purchased several varieties of wax cubes for aroma and the bing cherry is one of my faves. We will be back next year to buy pumpkins for Halloween, decorative gourds and apples...
Read moreToday my family & myself had family pictures scheduled at the orchard. While pulling in we could not get ahold of other family members ( bad reception) to find out how to get back to the pond. We stopped at the apple stand & asked a gentleman if he would help us get to the pond. His response was why & I explained to him for family pictures. This elderly man then spoke very ill to my husband and I, he yelled “ pictures pictures pictures. You’re supposed to buy apples not use us for pictures. Go to gravel road and get out of here before I say more.” We tried to speak and he yelled “ go” very aggressively.
We had a fun, full family day planned with our kids at this orchard directly after pictures. It never happened and neither did the family pictures that myself and my children were supposed to be in with my dad, my aunt and my cousins. I’m disgusted and very embarrassed by the actions of this worker or possibly even the owner of this place. My family and I will never return to this orchard. Nor will I recommend it. I hope no other family encounters this...
Read moreOne of our family's favorite places to visit. You can pick your apples and get a lot of goodies in their shop like pumpkin cakes, apple cider and local honey. Would recommend to anyone around the area.
EDIT: One star down from my previous review. Unfortunately, throughout the years these guys turned into money hungry commercialists. They are not a cozy family business anymore. In the past, you could go in without having to take a bag at the entrance and just walk around or go sit by the lake. Today, you are not allowed to do that. You have to take a bag and have to pick up apples. I told them I will buy from the store instead on my way out and they told me no. They are not as nice either because they know people will come no matter how they treat them.
Another complaint is that although they must be making a lot of money, they are not taking care of their restrooms for that many people. Instead they brought port a potties. They are disgusting. They should have clean restrooms instead. Invest in your business. You will earn respect from...
