So I went in tonight needed a couple of large items. Forgot my mask...made it all the way to the back of the store before I asked a younger associate where I could find what I was looking for. His response was rather snide and judgmental, he did not answer my question he only said "do you have a mask"? When I responded I did not he said you have to leave the store or you can purchase one at the front counter. I said I would go get one from the front counter. As I walked to the front counter I was approached by another female associate moving with a very aggressive speed in my direction using a slightly louder tone saying sir sir you need to have a mask or you'll have to leave the store. I informed her I was on my way to customer service to get one and instead of walking with me helping to facilitate me getting a mask she walked away. When I got to customer service I was waiting to pay for the mask at the register when the gentleman at the customer service counter made it a point to come tell me that I need in a mask which was waiting to pay for before I put on. Yeah I made a mistake I forgot a mask. By the time I had paid for the mask I was so mad that I almost said the h* with it and walked out. If I had not needed the one item for my weekend project I would have walked out. At that point time my experience was going to be bad no matter how nice anybody was from that moment on. I may never step foot into your store again just because the way I was treated over simple mask. Yes I was wrong for not having a mask with me. But the disrespectful way in which your staff spoke to me I will never give another dime to your store. Treat people with respect. it's...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe have been coming to this location consistently for the last couple of months. The employees are always nice, and they have wonderful products for decent prices.
Today, the great customer service stopped. The lady at the checkout (Mary) aggressively told us to wait for the person ahead to bag their items before moving ahead in the line. The request was fine, but the tone was aggressive and snappy. She scolded us like children, and it made me feel angry and uncomfortable. On top of that, our item broke when we were bagging it. Because of that, we had to go find someone to see what our options were.
A few minutes later, we found an employee over in the Christmas section (Tina). We noted that our item broke, but she just told us she was busy. She did not call a coworker to help or tell us to wait a minute. Once she was done with what she was originally doing, she walked away and told Josh to help us. Josh was extremely nice and went out of his way to tell us our options. We were able to exchange the item, and the customer service team made the process extremely easy.
The experience has made me reconsider going back to this location. While most of the employees are very kind, I am fearful that I will receive attitude every time I purchase an item. People have bad days, but it is strange that two employees were in the same negative mood. We love this place, so I am hoping that the agitated employees can get their stuff together. Thank you to the rest of the team who...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreAbsolutely the worst experience EVER. Do NOT purchase any type of kitchen cabinetry at Menards. I must admit, I was warned before my purchase not to buy at Menards. But I liked the style they had set up in the store so we did it anyway. From the very beginning, it was the worst experience ever. The sales people are inexperienced and/or misinformed about their product. At one point I had to ARGUE with the sales person whether the booklet showed pictures first then the descriptions or vice versa. I was correct --- I had spent the previous week scouring the book for exactly what I wanted. He also put in the wrong cabinet style after I explicitly said "I want exactly the style that you have set up right here." Then the quote had many mistakes - wrong sizes or doors opening the wrong way. The manager assured me (three separate times) that one cabinet would fit in a space I didn't think it would. After it was delivered, I found out I was right about that too so we had to exchange it (which cost us about $100 but at that point I didn't care just to get it over with).. Even though we paid for delivery, we had to go pick up the exchange (which I thought they should have delivered also since that is what I paid for). Then when we opened it at home, we discovered that they gave us the same cabinet we returned. So now our remodel is going to be put on hold for another few weeks while we wait for the...
