I went in purchased 4 ducks, and an over priced brooder that I was told was cheaper than what I was charged. The female worker was very nice, very helpful. She took care of the brooder mishap for me very kindly. And I appreciated that and voiced that. The male was disgruntled. He over charged me and then when I went back in to ask about my total (no receipt was given to me, only an emailed copy of a total. No breakdown) I was met with an attitude and was told I was āunderchargedā for my purchase until he did the math correctly and then said āthe difference was I charged you for 5 ducks instead of 4ā no apologies. Just a āIāll give you a $5 credit for the storeā I said I wouldnāt be back and he said why, it was just a mistakeā¦Iāve heard of this happening to other locals. Thereās also another review about it. The cages of the animals, reptiles, fish and mice were all dirty. It stunk to high heaven in there. Have respect for your customers, but most importantly the animals there. I am so glad I got those ducks and once home they went crazy for food and water the entire first hour I had them. They seemed to be very malnourished as I have had actual years experience with ducks. I was told out of the blue they get swim time and all of this info I didnāt ask for which I thought was a little odd but chalked it up as they just wanted to make small talkā¦. I got these ducks in a pool of fresh clean water the very next morning and it was 100% dirty muck. Not normal for 3 week old ducks, that have supposedly been in the water multiple times a day and live in a tank. There was no food and the water they had for them was under some type of bedding mat that was in what looked like almost a cat litter box. I feel like we just got rescues. I wish they learned how to take care of ducks, before selling ducks
I hope the āownersā reach out to me. As I was told these 2 are just āmanagementā but I feel like thatās a load of you know what. (Small town info gets around fast)
Very sad for a āsmall businessā
**Update to āownersā response- I would have loved to give you the benefit of the doubt- I even went to check your Facebook and noticed you went out of your way to find me and block me? Paranoid Iād leave a negative review there too? (I have my own business account I can confirm you did this-as I can still see your Facebook page on other accounts. Donāt worry, rest assured I wonāt bring this into Facebook land as Iām sure youād just keep blocking whoever leaves you a not so nice review. Great business etiquette)
This just goes to show you have a lot to hide on the social media aspects of things. Iām sure youāre upset you canāt block people who call you out on Google or other platforms like this.
Good luck running a small town business the way you do. Iāll be sure to use my credit and make sure I get what I was ALREADY charged for. Almost seems like a scam to over charge people and then offer only a written out gift certificate.
Iāll leave it at that- as I can respond to all your bluff in your response. You told us many things in person that all of a sudden youāre changing here (again) for a world of people to hopefully see. The good thing (and also super sad thing) is people will see how you really run things there and you cant hide it. Your work shows within itself, as Iām sure...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI wish I could give them a better rating. I love seeing family owned pet stores. They have a great variety of animals there and they were very friendly. However, it made me question if they know how to properly care for some of the animals. Every single gecko/ reptile was missing humid hide and/or a mister. All of them had old stuck shed on them, missing toes due to shedding issues from improper husbandry temps/humidity. One gecko looked to have MBD (tail was all kinked) and was about to die. Large panther chameleon in tiny cage, adult leopard geckos sharing a tank together and had a pile of feces in there that had to take at-least a month to accumulate. And over by the rabbit/rats it smelled awful!!!! The Guinea pig couldnāt open his eye, and had green pus coming out of it. The cages/setups were just sad. Even my daughter said she wished she could come to volunteer just to clean their cages and give them some attention. I think this place has some potential, I hope they take this review with some constructive criticism and look into the well being of these animals. No one wants to buy a sick animal that will most likely have to go to the vet and spend 100ās of $$$ on. Please do better. Iām not a professional, but I have had various animals my entire life. I have 17 reptile/amphibians, 3 birds, dogs and rabbits and none of them look or smell the way these animals did. I wish I took photos, if I ever stop in again I will, but after leaving i felt sorry sad and helpless for those animals it ruined my day - I didnāt want...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI am appsolutly ecstatic about the friendly atmosphere and the owner/associates. Before the new ownership the store was so bad you couldn't even walk into the place because it smelled. Everytime we came in for fish food they owners were on their phones behind the counter instead of taking care of the pets and we would always find an animal that had passed away. Now when you go into the shop the employees are laughing and smiling while greeting you as you come in.. they are always checking on their animals making sure they have enough food and water through the day.. all of their animal's are super friendly so you knowledge they are handled and played with everyday. with the new ownership the animals are all loved by the associates. The store smells amazing for a pet store. my niece had gotten her bearded dragon from there before new ownership and the poor thing was so skinny. š¢now all of there animal's are healthy and loved.her bearded dragon is now very healthy and is loving his new life. His name is toothless.there puppy are adorable, loving and playful.too. Their fishtanks are looking so much better from before and there is such a homey atmosphere ...
