ZERO STARS We hired Elliot Electric in 2014 to install a whole-house generator. For years, it only ran during short outages. But after a long power outage in July 2025, our carbon monoxide detectors went off multiple times while the generator was running — eventually triggering a fire department dispatch. After investigating, we learned the generator had been installed too close to the house and near vents, which is against code and safety regulations. We confirmed this with another licensed contractor, who we hired to bring the installation up to code — at our own cost ($2,300). Despite multiple calls and emails, Elliot Electric never followed up. When we finally spoke with someone, we were told we may have caused the issue, which is both offensive and irresponsible. Since then — silence. This was a serious safety hazard that put our family and pets at risk. We expected better — at the very least, a returned call and an apology.
