READ THIS ENTIRE REVIEW. The 5star reviews are for their auctions. CANT be for their "store".
I shopped at Wholesale Liquidation for years. As a young family, the banana boxes were awesome for $10! they always had a huge selection of snacks and great freezer items. I made their business part of my weekly grocery shopping trip.
At that time I was affiliated with a non profit Christian radio station in the area and helped to get them sponsors on the air. Since I always saw Christian themed signs around the store I thought they might be willing to be a sponsor for a short time. The husband(owner) agreed and supported the station for a short time.
Fast forward several years(3-5) I went there today with my three young children as we hadn't been in a very long time and I thought they would enjoy picking out snacks.
Immediately when I walked in I was disappointed that they are no longer "banana" boxes. They are smaller now. The box area food selection is complete garbage compared to what it was. And if you do find something decent in that area then there are signs stating that you can only have one in your box. But hey, with the state if the economy, I get it.
I continued to look around with the kids and they picked a few small bag of chips. I saw these cute gray planters, the sign said one per box so I just got ONE. I came across a very large bin full of sunscreen and was excited to get stocked up for summer so got about 8 different tubes as I could use some in our beach bag, one on the boat, etc.
We then were told to leave our cart by the front door as we walked through another section of the store that has any decent items that you would actually want to eat and that are prices per item. We didn't find anything worth having or paying their prices for so we proceed to go get our cart and check out.
Once returning to my cart I could visibly see that my box was disheveled. I was confused so asked that lady (THE OWNER) at the register if someone had gone through my box and that I noticed the sunscreen was gone.
With a very nasty attitude she yells that she took them out because I ignored the sign. I then explained I didn't see the sign. In an even nastier/louder voice she begins to vent on to me her frustrations from OTHER customers ignoring the signs. At this point, I am in stock and caught off guard with how she is speaking to me. I again explained I didn't see the sign and that if I was trying to get one over on her then why did I follow the "limit 1" signs for the other items in my box?
There was absolutely no reasoning with her. She then yells at me saying "the owner told her to take them out so she did". Little did her remember about how I know she IS the owner(or his wife at least) and our past interactions.
Since she was flipping out and not trying to communicate in a reasonable manner in front of my children, I asked her if I could just leave the box and just go. She then says I'm not allowed back( as if I would ever enter that dusty store again). I then look at her and very calmly state that if she is so upset with people taking advantage of her then she needs to use better discernment on who those people are and take that tone and attitude with them because I did not intentionally try to break any of their requests. I turn to my children to gather them to leave and she continues to yell at my children "yeah, you see your Mom that's not what you do!".
Don't give these people your business. There are plenty of other stores that you can shop in a clean, honest, respectful environment like the Grocery Outlet, Big Lots, Aldi, etc.
You could go and be fine OR you could go and be talked to like trash/a thief in front of your children over SUNSCREEN!! Don't just trust my review- there are plenty more like it on their Facebook page "Wholesale Liquidation"
And if the OWNER sees this.. if almost expired sunscreen is going to make or break your business, cause you to treat an honest customer like trash, and make yourself look like a lunatic then KNOW WHEN TO CALL IT QUITS AND...
ย ย ย Read moreWe used to shop here when money was tight. It helped us stock up for the month and get products that helped us make food that we could can and freeze. We went in today and pretty much turned around and left. The boxes were half the size. Most items you could only buy 1 per box. There were signs in the store saying basically your greedy if you want more than 1 of the item. When you figure the cost. For around the same prices, maybe a little more, you can go to the grocery outlet and you can buy as much of one item that you want and not be seen as greedy. People are just trying to survive in this high priced economy. Not be insulted for trying to feed their family or being able to buy a little sweet treat every now and then. Weather you say it out loud or write it on a sign, you all are downright rude and...
