This was incredible! The dogs are great and nice, the guides are really professional and know their stuff, and the experience was an all around good time. I went on the four hour trip. Since I followed their guidance on how to dress, I was warm the whole trip. There was another couple with us the the guide, Brian I think. He not only led us around but explained the area, the plants we were seeing, some history, and the occasional animal track. He told us details about the dogs too. We had Basil, Zephyr, Bob, Mullet, and Hillary. Bob is my favorite. The guides are all really fit as they lead on cross country skis or bikes with snow tires. They are really safe about corona virus, though I feel that I missed out on some instructions. I would absolutely go again. If you read their history on the website, you can see this team really really knows what they are doing.

The friendly staff and dogs make this place truly amazing. We were greeted upon arrival by Ginger and “House Dog” with tails wagging and lots of happy dog greetings. Once we were ready Luke and the dog team took us out on our tour. Hands down this is one the best experiences my wife and I have ever had! The dogs are so happy doing what they do and love to be petted and receiving an occasional belly rub. I can personally say these dogs are happy, healthy and well taken care of. Great experience and we are happy we picked this wonderful lodge to take us on our first dog sledding experience! Thanks again to the dogs and to our guide Luke.

What an incredible experience! We did three days of dog sledding, staying at timber trail lodge. Lynn Anne and Henry were excellent guides and really tailored the experience for our family. Two dog sledding sessions a day and three excellent meals made for full and fullfilling days. We went to the International Wolf Center in the evening and had time to do a sauna and jump in the lake! Meeting Paul Schurke and learning about the history of dog sledding and northern Minnesota was fantastic. The connection with the dogs and the insight into the traditional culture of dog sledding is unforgettable! Thank you Wintergreen

My daughter has a deep commitment to preserving wildlands and supporting free roaming wolves. She and I had a chance to join with five energetic and loyal staff members from Wintergreen Dogsleeding Lodge. They were Cedar, Douglas, Marley, Sven, and Ethel, the Canadian Inuit Dogs who pulled us sledding through Minnesotas pristine northern wilderness on the afternoon following Christmas Day.

Paul Shurke, owner of Wintergreen Dogsled Loge, sent us off with our five sled dogs and two experienced guides, his son Peter Shurke and Kevin Vandenbussche.

During our trip at each stop my daughter would attend to each dog giving them praise and hugs for all the hard work they were doing. Yet at one stop when a dogs loving exhuberance in response to her care plunged her back into deep snow gravity took over and silently removed her phone from her pocket.

Over a mile down the trail this midadventure was discovered, at which time our guide Kevin responded with attentive equanimity and a calm kindness. He made contact with Paul at the lodge to let him know we would be turning around. ] Our five Inuit descendents of wolves pulled us with great ease to the point of the mishap and we were able to reverse the forces of trail physics.

Thank You Kevin, Paul, and Peter for a...

My experience with Wintergreen thru Kes Ebbs and Outdoor Afros Stephen Scott and the forestry of MN was just super heart warming and winter wonderful! Their dogs become like family the moment you meet them as does the wintergreen human family. They shared all of it with us and we had a very beautiful learning and kived experience riding the sleighs with their dogs and learning about this adventure inckuding harnessing and visualizing the safety and support of their dogs running sleds and the dogs absolutely love it and they love people . We got to feed them and take them to their kennels . Ill never forget the welcome their young people so open and ready and their dogs whom they so very well personalized with us about their names their care thier homes and thier kove of snow and sleighs ! We felt emvraced welcomed and exilerated . Still talking...
